Today I'm VERY offended. I can't say what I'm offended about--site rules and all that--but my FEELINGS are hurt. So I figured I'd start a thread where we can all express our offendedness at the world around us.

I'm OFFENDED because, when I was going for a walk today, I overhead someone say...a naughty, naughty word.

What are you offended by right now? Let's get it out in the open!

I'm offended by people's utter inability to get along in any way, shape, or form. You get a democrat and a republican in the same zip code together, and it's suddenly a first-grade sandbox fight, and there's no room for compromise. They'd argue over the color of the sky.

The color changes. The deep blue of October, the steely grey of November, the weird orange-brown at night in DC, brilliant red of certain sunsets, pastels of sunrise - which color is the real color?

Hmm, I'm offended by people who insist on one and only one right answer when there are many.

I probably should have amended that to read that they'd argue about the sky on any given day, but I see your point.

Agreed, the color of the sky has too many variables. You have the geographical location of the observer, the time of the day, and the angle along the sky that you are looking at, the local weather conditions, the visual acuity of the observer and to some extent, even how long the observer has been looking at this patch of sky or the presence of hallucinogenic drugs in the observer. It is only a strong social bias that causes us to near universally agree that the sky is some shade of blue. Had our ancestors been nocturnal, we would call it black.

Absolute Truth is bunk! Wait... I am offended that this is logically inconsistent!

I'm offended that I spent the last several hours nursing 2 pass-out drunk 16 year old strangers found on a friends lawn back to health, but people are still fighting to keep pot illegal.

I am offended you did not harvest their kidneys and livers to save the lives of those who could use them!

Is there a drop box system for "recovered" organs like at the video store?

Hey, this thread is about being offended, not being reasonable.

I'm mildly offended, but mostly amused, by the mockery of this thread against genuine offence. But I am greatly offended at this: I spend a lot of time in the beautiful Black River State Forest in central Wisconsin hunting, fishing, and hiking. Because of the economic problems facing the State logging in the forest has been accelerated to the point where the forest looks like a western clearcut; a savaged moonscape, a bombed out war zone. Once beautiful hardwood forests are now a barren shambles, and this in the most beautiful parts of the State forest. Coyotes, bear, and recently introduced wolves, that should be closely controlled, have devastated the deer population as well. Squirrel and porcupines, once abundant, have all but vanished due to predation. Poaching has always been a problem as well and surely has increased with the economic downturn. These developments not only offend me but anger and sicken me as well. Sorry to bring a serious comment to an otherwise jockular mockery of a genuine human emotion.

Dang dude! That is a right fine post. Not just that . . . but I am offended at any metrophile who doesn't "get" why Oldwiseguy is exactly 100% right.

I'm offended that there isn't a "I'm a big boy and I don't whine when I get mad" thread.
I'm offended by people blaming others for not doing what they want done when they could easily do it themselves.

That is an incredibly beautiful area. It's a shame that the trees are being cut down, but they will eventually grow back. It's absolutely necessary to protect government overspending, because once shrunken back to reasonable limits it might not grow back. Sarcasm aside, it sounds like the politicians are putting on a display to show the populace what will happen if we don't bend to their will. They'll destroy a beautiful park that people actually use, then tell us it's our fault because we don't want to pay more for their pet projcts. It's a strongarm tactic.

I am offended by misogyny, willful ignorance, racism, sexism, dismissive attitudes toward ANY faith, and homophobia.

I don't mind jokes, but if you're being serious I will not be happy.

I'm offended by trite and predictable things
