I need help. Satan keeps coming to me in the night.

Hi everybody, for the past couple of years, almost every week there is at least one time in the night where I am woken up in the middle of the night by something. Always between the hours of 3 and 4 also, which I have heard is the hour satan can be most powerful?

Well I have been woken up by knocks at my door, my alarm going off at 3am exact although it wasnt set, lately my laptop has been turning on, and last night the worst of all, I was woken because I felt a physical presence crawling up my bed over my legs, it woke me up and I instantly jumped up and turned the lights on and said that in Jesus' name you are not welcome here, and I prayed for help.

I am really worried that Satan is really trying to scare me, I have recently become a Christian in the last month and I have had some strong interactions with God and Jesus and my Aunty believes that he is working strongly with me. Despite this, I have led a sinful life until the last year, so I think maybe Satan is trying his best to get me back? I am really scared, and I dont know how to fight him.

It just might be the sin in your body fighting back . Paul spoke of this . the word "soul link" comes to mind also . it doesn't have to be a demon .

the advice i find helpful is to continue to focus on Jesus

and keep thanking Jesus for everything .

if it is a demon . it drives them made

if it is sin . it drives it away .

and if it is another person playing games . Jesus is stronger . so just keep focused on Him .

in whatever case . this phenomena is amplified by paying attention to it and giving it homage of fear .

so don't give it .

"There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love." (1st John 4:18)

I pray in Jesus name that God's perfect love casts out all fear in your heart .

and hope you are well . and grow in Him knowing that He loves you .

Just curious, have you at one time or another been involved in occult activity or gone to a psychic or medium in anyway? I'm firm believer that demons will cross over onto your territory this way. I've seen it too many times. If not, then just call on Jesus. These spirits can't hurt you because they are scared of the wrath of God. You are a child of God now.

Satan isn't like the boogyman. He's no stronger at 3am than he is at 3pm.
However, if you believe he's stronger/more dangerous at 3am, what kind of evil incarnate would he be, if he didn't take advantage of your already made fear?

Remember not to give Satan too much power.
Meaning, he is less than God, any Christian has the strength to cast him out, and throw him away from us.
Do not let yourself be crippled by fear for an enemy you know you can already defeat.

I would seriously reccommend reading "The Screwtape Letters" by C.S. Lewis - It's a good look at how Satan and demons can trip you or I up, and cause us to stumble.

Satan has fallen Ben, don't let him sit in the throne of your fears.

Do you watch a lot of horror movies or read occult material? These influences can change the way your mind perceives the world - especially at night. I'm not saying that dark forces aren't at work here, but if you are into those forms of entertainment, that might be good place to start.

Use the authority (like you have done) in JESUS name
and command them to leave - they will leave.

Sometimes you have to insist, but they can't win
its impossible. (unless we let them).

They can of course lie and try to attack at any time.
But they often do their work, when you are tired, lonely
or feeling under the weather.

Remember JESUS was tempted when HE was alone and
tired and hungry.

So, like a wolf attacking the sheep, they go after them
at their weekest time/place.

But your defense is JESUS HIMSELF and using the authority
HE has won at the cross by the shedding of HIS blood!

I'm very new here and not as eloquent as previous posters so I'll apologise now!

I was told that when we become Christians we become 'fresh meat' to the Devil and he will do anything and everything to get to us. I know sometimes that he's trying to play with my mind, always when I'm feeling down (I suffer from depression), am tired or otherwise not quite 100%.

What I try to do is read the bible; especially the bit about putting on God's armour and fighting him away. God is so much stronger than the evil one; he knows that and he can't compete. I tell him I am God's child so he can just leave me; sometimes I'll do this in a loud voice. I always feel better after; like I've won the battle. He really has NO POWER over us, unlike our Lord.

I don't think it's Satan, maybe you are just sensitive to ghosts. Ever seen the show "Paranormal Activity"? I've seen it before and it kind of creeps me out, so I barely watch it, but the same thing you complain about is the same thing the people on there complain about. Some people call it a "gift" but I don't think it's a gift if you're a Christian and not into that kind of stuff.

I've heard that some people are just born w/ those abilities; those who have "crossed over" seem to seek out certain people. Eh...I dunno...but I'd look into it. And, those are the hours the people on the show try to recreate the situation people with those abilities complain about it. They call it "active hours" or something like that. I can barely remember...

And, I agree with the previous poster, if you've been involved in an occult, gone to psychics or mediums or have played games where you try to get in touch w/ this spirit world, this will increase activity...

I personally don't believe in ghosts - I think strange things and paranormal things can happen, but those are due to demons using our 'belief' in ghosts that has been fed to us through the media for years.

Think like a demon - lets say you know Jane watches horror movies all the time and totally believes in ghosts, poltergeists or other creepies - and if you really wanted to freak her out, ,wouldn't you use that fear against her as posing as a ghost? Something she already believes in and doesn't think to cast out?

Only you can give power to occult things. It's your fear and your belief in them that make them usable tools for Satan to work with.

A Ouija board is cardboard. The pointer is a little piece of plastic, and both people who are insisting that they're "not moving it" are both lying.
Nothing in the Ouija board has power - UNLESS you decide it does.
If you decide that Ouija board is PURE EVIL and a remote right to Satan himself, he'd be pretty foolish not to use it.

However the same could be used for any object, your necklace, your computer game, your camera.....If you give something power, Satan can and will use it to frighten you or cause you to stumble.

Don't give him that power...it's cardboard and plastic.

Your experience is not that unusual. Read the NT book of Jude, and renounce anything you have willingly reliquished to the enemy during your previous earthly life. You may want to purchase a book called, "Reclaiming Surrendered Ground" by Jim Logan.

You are going to be ok. Jesus Christ conquered the enemy at Calvery.

Look unto Jesus and be saved. Read the Word every day to find the strength you need.

Many Christians have experienced what you are going through and found The Victory in Jesus Christ.

Thankyou all so much for your help. In reference to some of you, I have not actually been involved with those activities such as oiji board (however you spell it), but have watched many scary movies and been frightened by the movies particularly about ghosts and possession.

So I suppose I have kinda opened the door to being susceptible for it to be used against me.

Thankyou for the verse references also.

I have in fact not had any more experiences since that one, which I found sleeping with my bible next to me gives me a little comfort in the night, I have been delving deeper into my faith week by week and it feels so good!

In fact I feel as though the times where I am not as close to Jesus as I usually am are the times I am frightened in the night. In the past, it is also common for it to happen on Tuesday nights, which for me is tonight! So I will pray tonight that I will be left in peace! Will let you all know how it goes!

So is he stronger at 3am central or eastern? I obv think that's a myth.

And you say it's been going on for years, though you only became a Christian in the past month? I doubt they are related issues then.

Have you ever tried staying up until 3, just to see what's going on? Or setting up a webcam in your room to see if anything odd happens?

Also try keeping a written record of anything odd that happens. Where you were, when it happened, what it was, what was going on before and after the event.

Aside from taking this as a serious reminder to keep close to Christ in your daily life . What comes to mind , is to keep a recording of Christ's Sermon on the Mount , close to where you sleep , so that you can easily reach over and turn it on ... this should be peacefully inspiring to you , and if there are demons involved , they'll not like to stick around and hear such profound truth !

Dear Lord , May You Be our Mighty Helper , as we look to You for Your Mercy , Truth & Grace .

OK SO I read all the above posts and I am gonna say this-when I became christian( I am an exmuslim)..I had very similar experience and it is not an imagination..........!!! It is real

Demons exists their power exists ....and their work exists-Jesus was always driving them out..
what we have to understand is that no power is above Christ -in his name there is power and deliverance and this will stop .....

Keep praying before you go to Bed and plead the blood of Christ before you sleep over ur bed and on urself

When u have these experiences -rebuke them in the name of Jesus -victory is yours
