If, and I say, "if", God has made any mistakes, then can we forgive God for His mistakes?

Jesus has created a reality where we are forgiven. If God has made any mistakes, then can we as Christians forgive God for any mistakes that He might have made?

love,

tuck

What kind of question is that? I am hoping that you are not serious for asking it and have some kind of humor awaiting us.

I'm thinking that it might be worth a look into our forgiving each other as a way to forgive God. That's because when we forgive other people, if that forgiveness is truly love based, our forgiveness will be bringing God down here to earth where He is needed the most. And what happens than is that the forgiveness of others will be a direct forgiveness of God as well.

God doesn't need forgiveness.

It's disturbing the bible and other religious texts portray God within what we can identify with but I believe God is greater than all that. The idea of a personal God that comes to assistance and at the whims of the creatures created doesn't make sense.

God blasted the universe into being but does God stand there watching over it all, even the sparrow? The writtings we have seem to suggest so but was this of God's doing or a creative imagination on our part?

Your right, God doesn't need forgiveness. In the same breath though there are a LOT of hurting people who are very, very angry at God for one reason or another...often for some very good reasons. The question being ask in OP on the face of it does sounds kind a of stupid..I mean, forgiving God?!? Who ever heard of such a thing. But when we start looking at the hurt people have experienced and the deep, deep anger they carry, the question asked in the OP becomes very insightful. I’m glad it’s being asked. To carry this a bit further, from my perspective, any healthy spiritual path absolutely needs an avenue for the forgiveness of God.

Jesus went all that way.

Not quite. He didn't deal with original sin. Nor did he apologise on behalf of God for the various mass slaughters of innocent people that God commanded. In all fairness, I'm not the greatest fan of all of Jesus' teachings either (killing people who do not honour their mother and father is something I don't agree with), so perhaps he wasn't the man for the job.

Also, if you commit a crime, or you do something wrong, don't send someone else to clean up your mess. Sending Jesus seems more and more to be an act of cowardice rather than kindness, especially when God was perfectly capable of achieving his end result without a sacrifice, given that he is omnipotent.

Peaceful, there is absolutely no humor to this topic. Absolutely none.

The non Christians are claiming that God has made some mistakes. Their arguments create some interesting realities in some folks minds. If God did actually make some mistakes, can we as Christians forgive Him?

If it actually turned out that God has actually made a mistake some where along the line in the history of Humankind or in individual lives, "Can you personally forgive Him?" In spite of the fact that that mistake might have involved you?

Based on what is being explored by the non religious, can we as Christians also forgive God for any possible mistake for anything that He "God" might be accused of making? Even though that mistake effected our own personal life? The non religious are attempting to explain that God is evil, if He even exists. Or that He (God) is at least human in some sense of the word "human."

If God has ever made a mistake, can we as Christians ever forgive Him?

love,

tuck

I'm glad it's being ask too! I'm thinking it's not only a question of God but of the peoples who said God demanded this action or said God said this.

What if God was out there doing what God does and creating new universes (I've heard it said in astronomy circles we are in a 'mutiverse')? Why credit this being with words from our own mouths, not to mention attribute's of our own actions as a race?

Maybe as we evolve the false words of God will pass away and we can finally realize this.

You'll notice there are at least 3 posters in this thread for whom this is very real. And I was in that same boat for quite some time. I reluctantly came to realize it wasn't G-d who goofed up at all, but me. Yes, most often my goof-ups were in response to other's, but that didn't make it G-d's fault which I think is where dlamberth is going. And my former line of thinking didn't get Adam off the hook either. (Notice he tried exactly that)

I have never found G-d to respond too well to fist shaking or holding grudges. I'd be curious to hear if someone else has? I have found the prescribed path to be foolproof, consistent, and doable. It never involves Him changing to somehow accommodate us. (Moreso so than He has already provided for)

I'm glad you realize "G-d is greater than all that," but it would be more disturbing if we didn't have anything we could relate to. Our personal G-d makes it abundantly clear He does not come to our assistance at our whims! At least He does so in the Bible, so you might check into that, and find the Bible makes much sense.

out of "allah's" own mouth, sura 16:101, mistakes made intentionally.

But we know if G*d made a mistake, we would not exist.

Can we forgive G*d you ask? Let's forgive one another first. Are you capable? The saints will be judging muslims. Lets practice forgiving.

Well yes God is omnipotent but He has also reserved His power over sin to give us free will. So we will each believe what we may and what follows is a result of that belief. Since Jesus believed He was the son of God, it followed that the world killed Him because of the beliefs they held about God and the messiah.

Jesus didn't ever once commit murder nor did He condemn sinners, but He believed in forgiveness and repentance as being the foundation for an ethical society in a sinful world. I don't agree that your attitude to condemn God is nearly as admirable as Jesus' attitude was to unite us with God, hence my desire to argue with your belief.

Can you quote the verse which Jesus says people should be killed for not honoring their father and mother, I don't think I have read that.

As for original sin, you are forgetting that time and space are linear, they have a beginning and an end, and according to my belief Jesus did atone for original sin, but what has been done cannot just be undone, it must be repared according to certain laws of physics (such as angels being eternal, their life has no natural death so God had to create a lake of fire which would purify the fallen angels of their sinful nature - humans are more fortunate that our soul can be purified by fire, yet the spirit continues to grow while we have a body).

Which always brought up an interesting question in my mind:

If Satan repented, would he be forgiven in Christian theology? Would Jesus' sacrifice cover even his sins?

From your post there was a few things I would like to ask you T.

How do you come up with God is He? Granted Jesus was a male but the Creator source of females and males, please explain?

Where did the 'non-religious' explain God as evil?

Where did the 'non-religious' explain God was human?

I'm wondering if you you include me in your 'non-religious' term because I post here only?
