Question what and why?

What they believed. It would have been a variant of Evolution, because they don't agree with Intelligent Design. EVERY Atheist who I've encountered, whether they don't know a thing about Evolution or not that I have encountered on a day to day basis say that they believe in Evolution because they are Atheists.

These two things are always...ALWAYS....associated. But with this understanding comes the concept of what the Humanist Manifesto is based upon. A mere assertion of what you're claiming is based on a false dichotomy in the end.

I don't care what they believe. If they choose not to be in Evolution nor in Intelligent Design, good for them. It makes zero difference to me. Perhaps they simply don't know and they admit it.

If you don't care, why did you bring these guys up that you mention in the first place?

I simply mentioned there were alternatives. You expect me have analyzed, collected data, cited my sources and refuted the atheist. I didn't. Sorry!

Okay, not a good idea to bring that up in a discussion or a debate. Just an FYI.

Just saying :). You don't have evidence for it, leave it at home.

I didn't know I was entering into a formal debate. I thought this was just a message board where I go to drive myself insane while I work on some projects at the computer. I guess I should know better next time.

I said discussion or debate. It doesn't matter. If you can't back it up, not a good idea to assert it.

I'm really tired of people debating whether atheism is a faith or not, so I want to try and settle it here. I know this is probably futile, but I'll try anyway. So, lets begin.

Hmmm ... And there I though you had said you were tired of it. Just make up your mind already, then stop caring for all the word torturing - done. Debate over.

Hhmmm ... decisions, decisions. Anyway I don't like or accept any of the definitions of Faith in the OP. Is there an atheist who is not a proponent of Ev theory? I think atheism has a much more specific worldview than any care to admit. Is there an atheist that's not a materialist? (I think Buddhism gets a special pleading in this category)

I think atheism should be recognized as a religion - brotherhood of the third eye blind?

"Is there an atheist that's not a materialist?"

Me. I think that any attempt to classify/define stuff as either material or - what was the opposite again? immaterial - is ... ahem. ;) Likewise for natural/supernatural.

Call it neutral monism, if you wish.

But your claim required research in order to be made. Maybe you just didn't do a good job of it.

No, it didn't require research. I was simply reading. Probably a blog. I haven't done any research on the topic of atheism. Why do you have to nit pick everything? And why oh why do I respond? I really should be ashamed of myself.
