A belief system...that there is no God. Hence Epistemologically it would sound as if the beliefs of this system would state "I know there is no God."

Thats what Christians have been arguing for years.

ok, since you seem so bent on insisting that atheism is a belief system, has doctrines, is a philosophy etc, can you please list all of these specific beliefs and "doctrines" (aside from having no belief in god)? I'm curious.

One, a knowledge there is no god.

Two, Evolution/Naturalism is true.

Three, morality is relative.

Four, truth is relative.

These are fundamental to the system of Atheism. Purpose is hard one usually for Atheists to grasp, as to where this comes from, so thats usually attempted to be done away with too.

And that is one view that some atheists hold. Others do not. It is really that hard to understand?

Some Atheists hold to relativism instead. But if all truth is relative, since this is meant to be absolutely true, all truth is not relative. And if it is relative, then that statement must also be relative, but then relative to what? Reductio ad absurdum.

How many times do I have to explain to you about #1? That one if false (for most atheists). What does evolution have to do with whether or not you believe in god? There are theists and atheists who believe or don't believe in evolution. Morality is relative? As opposed to what?. As for #4, I don't even know what you are talking about, so I can't say I believe or disbelieve that one.

Just like I can't assume what your beliefs are just because you are a theist (other than you believe in god), you cannot assume what my beliefs are as an atheist (other than I do not have a belief in god).

We can infer based on the statements given. They had just better conform to logic. Then Epistemologically they are Agnostic. How can you believe in something you know to be false? Epistemologically the position you are supporting is false.

Also, as I said in the other thread, you can call me an 'agnostic' if you don't want to call me an atheist. I consider both terms to fit my beliefs, so you are free to choose.

Hhmmm ... decisions, decisions. Anyway I don't like or accept any of the definitions of Faith in the OP. Is there an atheist who is not a proponent of Ev theory? I think atheism has a much more specific worldview than any care to admit. Is there an atheist that's not a materialist? (I think Buddhism gets a special pleading in this category)

I think atheism should be recognized as a religion - brotherhood of the third eye blind?

True because Buddhism is more Agnostic in Theology and Philosophy. My uncle's mother would certainly agree (A Nichiren Shoshu Buddhist).

I have heard of atheist who don't feel that Evolution is the best description of our current world.

Atheist who are not materialistic? Sure!!!

Living with and observing an atheist, I would find it difficult to categorize his atheism as a religion.

Examples are good. What alternative would this Atheist have besides Evolution? Although probably not fully understood as such by himself, its probably a variation, cause I'm gonna guess its not Intelligent Design. "Thats not Science." He would likely be the laughingstock of Atheists. Cherry picking from the Humanist Manifesto again (though there are Atheists who would not want to claim this, their assertions would be identical to something similar from it). But mere assertions don't do much for us.

I'm not interested in accepting logical fallacies as truth XDenax. Sorry.

Evolution is something that is ALWAYS associated with Atheism.

I'm not sure how many Atheists I need to ask before I can just accept this as a conclusion.

I merely stated that I had heard of some atheist who are critical of evolution. Way to blog it out of proportion. Geez.
