Has anyone ever had dreams of themselves praying, and then as you wake up, you are actually praying out loud? This has happened to me twice in the last month, and it's never happened before. Just curious if anyone has ever experienced this.

Welcome to Christian Forums!

As for your question...I do remember dreaming once that I was praying. As I recall, I was praying for a specific person, while I was giving them a big hug. I don't remember if I woke up praying or not.

That said, I usually go to sleep praying and wake up praying.

Perhaps the others will be more enlightening.

Blessings,

IP

I have been given words during the nite, not sure if I dream them, but I awake saying them. This words are usually important for me. Once, I dreamed I was dialing a phone number and when I awoke, the number kept replaying thru my mind (not knowing what it was, either) so I dialed it. Turns out it was a person from my past that was very very down and just needed some encouragement. When they heard my voice (especially that early in the morning) they started crying because they knew God had directed me. God is so good to involve us.

I was praying for someone also in at least one of my dreams, and when I woke up, I was asking the Holy Spirit to come upon this person. lol.

That is awesome!

Hadasseh - Great testimony of God's love & intervention.

08Victorious - I have had dreams about praying - sometimes generally, sometimes in relation to people not known to me & sometimes specifically for people I know. Occasionly in the past I have woken up praying. To me this had a message that the Lord wanted me to pray for them during waking hours. Was there something specific you were praying for?

This scripture came to mind for you- Col 4:12 Epaphras, who is one of you and a servant of Christ Jesus, sends greetings. He is always wrestling in prayer for you, that you may stand firm in all the will of God, mature and fully assured.

I pray in at least half of my dreams regularly. I encounter so much resistance from the kingdom of Satan, that I have actually become accustomed to this, although my dream state prayers are typically only one single line as I am only semi-conscious at the time. I frequently quote to God the Father over and over Matthew 28:20 - "...I am with you always..." or sometimes "They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb" - Rev. 12:11 if I feel I am under attack.

I am not really dreaming about praying, but praying while I am dreaming, which must be at least close to what you are speaking of.

Yes, this is exactly what I'm talking about.

Although I originally said I dreamt about praying, but now that I think about it, I really am praying while dreaming.

Pay attention to what you're praying -- there is significance. God does nothing in vain.

I was surprised one time to find that I would actually accomplish something in prayer during a dream. In the dream, an angel/God asked me to pray over a future situation (predicted in the dream). I had that sense of resolution and closure after a certain point, as though I had prayed enough.

I think it's important to trust what's going on. Allow ourselves to be used whether it makes sense or not. With God dwelling in us, all sorts of effective acts can happen.

Never obey an angel in a dream, especially if an angel image tells you to pray.

To whom?

angels do not = God. angels are created beings and many are fallen.

Never follow blind trust on what is going on. Never allow yourself to be used, if it does not make sense.

The true meaning may be cloaked from you, for a reason.

Jesus taught us to pray, " Our Father ". I do not recall Him telling us to offer prayers
in our dreams. The danger is that spirits can interact within our dreams and sway us.
Spirits think this is funny.
I hope that your dream prayers are following the words of Jesus.
I myself will not pray while I am asleep, nor will I listen to any image or voice.
If I am asleep, I do not know what I am saying and it can not be trusted.
