i am getting another one in feb. my bf and me are getting these cosmic stars on us,mine is small and i am getting it on my ankle. my dad says while i live in their house i cant have anything more. i dont think i'll do a whole lot more lol....

If I could do it all over again I would get no tats, but I have a bunch and one of them is a cross on my forearm. A very simple, straightforward maroon cross. So im in the club lol....

I've wanted one for a long time ... 7 years in fact .... the same thing ... this was (roughly) designed by a friend (I had my tattoo artist clean it up). I just finally took the plunge and got it done. We finished up about 3 hours ago. I'm very happy with the finished product ... here it is. It's a tribal style rendition of the crown of thorns, with the 3 spikes going through it.

I have one tattoo on top of my right foot and am planning on a couple more in time. It's a nautical star wrapped with a banner with my daughter's name and DOB with a cosmic swirl and hearts as a background.

If I ever have a second kid I want to put their name and DOB on my left foot (and idk what to do if I have a third kid! ). I also want a cross somehow, somewhere and when I become a nurse I will get a caduceus (medical symbol).

Hello everyone!! this is my very first post ever!!! Yay! and more to come! Anyways, I dont have any tats. I think they look very cool when they're nicely done, but the reason im writing in this thread is to ask a question to all the true believers on this thread that have a tat (or more) or are thinking of getting one.

Im not trying to judge or condemn anyone, so please dont take it that way.

But my question is-

Has anyone ever taken time to ask God if He would approve of tatooing His temple? and then waiting for Him to respond?

I ask cuz I wanted to get one at one point of time. Alot of christians I knew were getting them. But something deep inside told me to ask Him. So I obeyed. His response was a definite no.My Brother-in-law did the same thing. God told him the same answer.

All Im suggesting is to Ask your Heavenly Father.

Like I said before. Im not here to judge or condemn, or even argue and debate. I just want to come in a spirit of Love like Christ said to do.

I've been praying on the issue of tattoos since I was sixteen, as I did with my piercings. The conclusion I've come to is that neither should be a hinderance to financial responsibility, so if and when I have the money, I'm permitted to have them.

I studied His Word and have been fully convinced that as a follower of Christ, a saint, a member of the NT CHurch and a member of His royal priesthood I can, in fact, get a tattoo.

Many people take the whole "the body is the temple" verses and misapply them. The temple is spiritual. Nothing that happens to this body physically damages that. Would an amputee be considered a damaged or desicrated temple? Yes, according to the theology of many well intentioned but mistaken people, but not according to God.

Thats cool that u study His word. That's what we are suppose t o do. Study to show thyself approved. But if I recall correctly, my question was

I havent said anything about "marking your temple". I just asked if anyone has sincerly, out of the depth of their heart, asked God? AND THEN WAITED FOR AN ANSWER FROM HIM?

I prayed and thought about it for years, and yes God did give me a green light to get my tattoo, and I plan on getting a couple of more still. There is nothing at all scriptural against it, and as much as I prayed and sought God nothing told me not to, in fact just the opposite. My tattoo glorifies Him and gives me chance to witness.

I prayed about mine alot, and the conclusion that was given to me was that my tattoo was designed to bring glory to God in a way that not only is it an outward statement of faith, but a great conversation starter and therefore evangelical tool. I have cross with a bible verse between my shoulder blades. And I havn't regretted it.

i prayed about mine and i knew that it would be a great way to bring glory to God. i have 4 tattoos. and they all have to do with God. i have a cross with a heart. i have walking with Jesus on my foot and i surrender all on my chest. and so do you want Me to make your dreams come true on my stomach.

I have 19. None of them are "bad", and yes, I use them as a witnessing tool. A lady one time came up to me one Sunday-she was obviously just out of church. She looked disdainfully at me and said "What does your mother say about your tattoos and aren't you ashamed of them?"

I looked at her and said "Well, my mother is dead, and what is so incredibly awesome is that God called me in the dead of my sins, covered in tattoos, living a hard life...and He still loved me and still called me! So I figure that if I'm good enough for God to love me, then what do I care what other people think about my tattoos? If God is for us, who can be against us?"

Her mouth dropped and she didn't have another word to say. haha

Hello all - Thought I would drop by - Great to see this bit still going - I have had another Tattoo done now - a cross on my neck with angel wings and the word faith through a scroll - just about to have one done on my lower back - 3 crucifix with the purple robe on the middle one attached to scrolls going through the other two with doves at either end - I'll upoad it onto here this evening!

It sounds very nice-can you post a pic for it? I have one on my back that I'd like to get covered up-it's a photo of Marilyn Monroe...she was an idol of mine for most of my life. Now I feel that it's disrespectful to Jesus to have an "idol" on me....I want to get it covered with something pertaining to my faith.

I have 10, both shins covered, stomach, calves, forearms. Needless to say, the tattoos have opened more doors to sharing my testimony and beliefs with people in a non-aggressive way.

yeah I notice that - most people are intrigued and ask me about my faith - I haven't really had any negative comments.
