Sinners, that includes those who believe in Christ, don't need to hear about prophecy they need to hear and learn of Christ. They don't need to prepare for a "rapture" they need to prepare for judgement.
Brother, you are right, absolutely right, and I agree to a certain extent.
Sinners also need to know what awaits them not only in the immediate future but also what awaits then for eternity. And eschatology does that. This...is what awaits you if you "neglect so great a salvation." (Heb. 2:3)
Yes, preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, absolutely!
But a certain amount of eschatological preaching can and did put the fear of God and eternal damnation into this Supervisor.
Does anybody remember a Christian movie that came out in the 1970's and played in churches across America entitled "The Burning Hell"?
Guess what was a contributing factor that led me to the altar?
I don't see that a certain amount of preaching eschatology is a "bad thing".
God Bless
Till all are one.
Yes there are 2 things we know for sure that are going to happen in the future: Christ is coming back and there is a judgement. We preach those things incessantly as part of the Gospel. But all the conjecture and opinion about the details are nothing but conjecture and opinion. John tells us that which we have heard, seen and handled of the Word of Life we declare. 1John 1:1-3Brother, you are right, absolutely right, and I agree to a certain extent.

That's what got me into church.GrampaJeff;53648124Sometimes it takes an eschatology "message" to reach [I said:certain[/I] people along with the message of God's love.
Again, sorry for the confusion, Just wanted to share. In Christ, Jeff
