• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I just hope that I'm not an exception or anything.

Caty, please understand that I say this with all due respect. That is pride talking. We are all guilty of pride--every one of us, but that argument is a pretentious one and it comes straight from the enemy. He is telling you this and you are parroting it, thinking it is your own thought. It isn't.

Be a warrior. Put on your armor, girl!

2 Corinthians 10:4-5... 4The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

Ephesians 6:10-18...
The Whole Armor of God

10 A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. 12 For we[c] are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. 14 Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. 15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. 16 In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. 17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

I agree with this and I'll just echo by saying, Caty, we love you, but you aren't that special to be the exception. You would have to be something quite different than the rest of humanity for you to be the only one or one of the few who is the exception to God's forgiveness and love. Despereux is right. This is a form of pride. All humans are in the same boat and God is no respecter of persons. That means He treats us all with the same measure.

I just don't know how you all can be so sure that I'm not unforgiveable. I try to think that and then this huge fear comes over me.

Jesus came to save the whole world. You are a very small part of the world, yet you want to be saved and the whole world does not. Is not Jesus able to accomplish his task? You have the same task, don't you, you are a part of the world that you want to be saved. Jesus and you are in agreement. It is the Devil around us or in us that is in disagreement. He wants you doubting, but guess what, your desire to be saved is light over his darkness. Darkness has no power, but is just the lack of light. Your source of light is through your hope in Jesus Christ. You have chosen the side of Jesus. You have chosen hope over doubt. Pray that God removes the doubter from your heart forever. He will do this just for you. We are not generic, but we are each dear to him. Love you sister.

I don't love myself at all. But what I'm saying is how can you all be so sure that I haven't done something unforgivable. I mean doesn't that scripture kinda "take away" other in a sense that even if you do repent---you are still unforgiveable--because Jesus said your unforgivable. do you get me??

Cathy, you have said the same things at least four times, since this thread started, and all you are doing is going around in circles. Posters have given very good advice, and you ignored everything said.

We are not sure about your unforgivable sin, because you haven't shared this terrible unforgivable sin that you have committed. And if this unforgivable sin is so unforgivabale, then why haven't you confessed or repented it and asked for forgiveness from our Lord Jesus Christ?

So, when did our Lord Jesus Christ say to you that you are unforgivable. Are you making this up?

Blessings.

but i'm just afraid that i might have been able to recieve His grace but I made myself an exception.

It will help you to open your bible and find out where fear comes from and how we have victory over it. Here's a hint: Satan is the author of fear, and the flesh, and Jesus Christ is the victory over it.

It is a matter of pride that rises up in us and says that the Word of God and His provision for salvation doesn't apply to us. No one is an exception to the Grace of God! His abundant Grace is available to all.

No more "but"'s, Caty. Come on, take this to Jesus on your knees. I am praying with you.

I just don't see how you all get that someone who has spoke against the Holy Spirit in her head is forgiveable. Please tell me how you all intrepret that scripture. Some things I KNOW were from my OCD, but then there are others things that I KNOW beyond a shadow of a doubt that were NOT from my ocd. They made my ocd act up, but they originated from me. Everyone just keeps saying that if you feel bad then you haven't or if you think you have you haven't. No where does it state that in the Bible---& I'm finding that difficult to believe. Someone told me once that no one will ever truly know what Jesus meant whenever He said that, so how can I ever have comfort whenever I can put myself in the same catagory as the pharasies.

that's just where my whole fear of the unforgiveable sin comes into place ---because when im trying t fight off the intrusive thoughts i verbalize some of them but i dunno if im mad at God or my ocd or anything and the whole "speaks a word against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven" gets me. cause i dont cant remember if i had any bad intent or not.

Ok .. who would be telling you (thoughts) you cant be saved.. or God will NOT forgive you of that? hehe Yep NOT from God.. that right there... should show you its a LIE.. that YOU can be forgiven.. he loves you.

(BIG SMILE) please.. like ANY of us have NOT said something.. got mad at God.

He LOVES YOU. LOVES YOU.. it was NOT his words. And FEAR.. God does not use that. He will HUG you and smile at you and tell you he loves you and DID forgive you and TRUST in that. If we confess our sins he is faith an d just to forgive us our sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. So use that everytime you get those thoughts..

A lack of knowing about something that you only heard somewhere blah blah .. you would have to KNOW.. KNOWN him to be able to say something about the Spirit of God. For the SIN of which you speak. 1st Cor 14:33 2 Timothy 1:7

Hi Caty!

So please tell us all WHY you called a miracle that you saw done by the Holy Spirit through Jesus, a work of the Devil, thus making Jesus an instrument of the Devil? Were you trying to turn your family's attention away from Jesus to yourself?

Would you rather save yourself? Is it too painful to need someone else to save you? It takes a lot of painful humility to acknowledge that Jesus is the only one who can save you. It's much easier to say that Jesus is from the Devil and therefore is not able to save anyone. And then tell yourself that's Ok, because you can be very good and save yourself instead.

Is the reason for your making Jesus an instrument of the Devil because you would rather try to save yourself? Are you angry at God that you can't save yourself? "Hopping mad?" Most people would MUCH rather save themselves if they could. Many believers even try to "help God" after they're saved by thinking they have to do lots of extra-good works just to keep their salvation.

Or would you rather just punish yourself for some mistake(s) you have made in the past? Some OCD people even cut themselves or cause themselves great physical pain, feeling that intense self-torture will provide some justice for their mistakes. Some Muslim people whip themselves severely every year for their sins. A man in the Phillipines even has himself tied to a cross every Easter.

Self-condemnation and self-torture is a very common human thing, but usually not that obvious. Jesus called it being in "Gehenna," a "here and now" state of self-condemnation, where "the fire" (of truth) is never quenched and the self-destructive "worm of guilt" dieth not."

Here's a song right from "Gehenna:"
===============================================================================
"Dang Me" by Roger Miller:

Well here I sit high, gettin' ideas
Ain't nothing but a fool would live like this
Out all night and runnin' wild
Woman sittin' home with a month old child

CHORUS:
Dang me, dang me
They oughta take a rope and hang me
High from the highest tree
Woman would you weep for me.

Just sittin' around drinkin' with the rest of the guys
Six rounds bought, and I bought five
Spent the half the groceries and all the rent
Lack fourteen dollars having twenty seven cents.

(CHORUS)
Dang me, dang me
They oughta take a rope and hang me
High from the highest tree
Woman would you weep for me.

Roses are red and violets are purple
Sugar is sweet and so is maple surple
I was the seventh out of seven sons
My pappy was a pistol
I'm a son of a gun.

(CHORUS)
Dang me, dang me
They oughta take a rope and hang me
High from the highest tree
Woman would you weep for me.

Pleeease give us the REAL answer why you made Jesus an instrument of the Devil so we'ill know where to start.

Best Blessings,
"Arph"
