For memorials, where do you get the psalms from? Would it be the same psalms from the 4-week cycle or would it be in the common of saints depending on the saint? Also the same question for the reading.

Normally, you take the psalms and readings for memorials from the normal four week psalter. The one exception would be if you want to celebrate the day with greater solemnity for some reason (e.g. it's the patron saint of your parish or diocese). Then you would use the common psalms and readings for the saint "type".Hope that this helps!

Ok, so you essentially take everything from the four week cycle? Unless you want to take it from the common? Ive been doing it where I do the psalms from the four week cycle and the reading from the common. So if everything is taken from the normal four week cycle, what is the difference of the day being a memorial?

Most memorials have a Gospel antiphon and concluding prayer that is proper (i.e. specific) to the day. You should pray those if the day is a memorial. Otherwise, use whatever is in the normal four week cycle.

I don't know which edition you have, but if it's the one from the Catholic Book Publishing Company, they usually produce a cheap companion book (it costs maybe $2) that tells you which prayers you should pray on which pages on each day. Might be a good investment.

If you have trouble figuring everything out precisely, don't sweat it too much. Unless you're a priest or religious, you're not bound to do any of it, so whatever you are able to do is a good sacrifice for God.
