You expect real things to some how have something to do with imaginary events?
Thank you for making my point.

According to you guys:

It's imaginary because there's no evidence --- there's no evidence because it's imaginary.

Wrong, but even so, what do you have against circular logic? You don't complain about the God/Bible circle...

That's right --- only God can do it.

Just like when I say the Trinity cannot be explained scientifically because it is a violation of the Law of Non-contradiction.

Only God can do it.

That's nice --- looking in the rocks and earth for evidence of creatio ex nihilo.

No wonder nothing was found.

Well, if you look for nothing, you're sure to find it.

And, unfortunately, prattle on about it incessantly.

a post or two up I was expressing the idea that Americans are way too fat satisfied and ignorant for their long term prospects in a world crowded with smart ambitious aggressive people.

Faith and ignorance are gonna make a very thin shield.

The very real threat to all of us goes on regardless. Our whole society is in danger and stupidity is a major reason for that danger. I hope I have been a citizen long enough that I can say that and not have it taken wrong by anyone else.

Considering more people care about American Idol than the repair/upgrade of the Hubble Space Telescope your statement is 100% true. The literal fundamentalist movement and entertainment industry is going to create an America that would be years behind the rest of the world in scientific achievements.

I've been watching the Atlantis crew work on the NASA channel all day!

Well, I'm sure if we all did that, nothing else would get done --- would it?

I wonder how many people will live longer today because surgeons cared more about their patients than they did the Hubble Space Telescope?

(By the way --- how did it break in the first place?)

Me thinks someone is just a bit sore about a certain eye-in-the-sky that has been spotting things that contradict certain religious texts. ^_^:D

So what is the insight?

hespera sez: yes. how better to illustrate the utter fecklessness of faith / ignorance as promoted by.

Maintenance, AV.

But thanks for assuming the worst, as usual.

Remind us what you've managed to put in space with your infinite wisdom and high post count?

Then remind me again why we watched American Idol?

*remark about AV's taste censored*

Glory of space and all the Lord's creation vs a bunch of talentless cover-single factories.

Tough one.

You wanna see a masterpiece, BS?

Check out these masterpieces:

  • The Pearl of Zandvoort
  • The Evergreen Game
  • The Immortal Game
  • The Game of the Century
  • Frank J Marshall's 23. ... Q-KN6
  • Gibaud vs. Lazard --- Championship of Paris --- 1924
Get the picture?

To each his own.

What's the betting BananaSlug would actually appreciate those games even if they're not his thing, rather than make some remark equivalent to assuming NASA broke something and then implying that American Idol *vomits* is better (because we can't be seen to praise science ever, oh no!)

"To each his own" indeed.....
