I know that we all have the same spirit in us. What frustrates me is how some people the Holy spirit Just manifests for and tells them things and shows them visions but for the rest of us its like prying a safe open to get to him. I don't understand because i have sought the Holy spirit, i mean for people like benny hinn and this isn't a debate on wether you think benny hinns false or not. But Like in other countrys or certain people just seems like the holyspirit just consumes them. But it feels like its for a select few, only who God wants to have it because man i've been seeking it and have asked God for a manifestion of the holyspirit, but its like everytime i ask its like nothin.

Just asking the Holy Spirit to come in and pour himself into you--He does it. We don't always feel Him, or have wild fireworks displays, but He is there. Why is he there? To empower you to do what God calls you to do.

Submit yourself to His presence, sing praise to Him, blessing His heart, and with a clean heart, open your mouth and declare His beauty and majesty until your words become His very own! There's His presence and fullness!

Wait for it. It will come, sometimes in quietness and solitude, rather than in public in among His people.

I hear what your saying and many people are saying the samething, trust me, you are not alone.

It all depends on how open people are to the Holy Spirit and the true message of the gospel. We may all have the same Spirit in us but not all of us work the same way at understanding that Spirit and making him Lord of our lives. We are all learning and hopefully renewing our mind to that Spirit that is now within us, that will always cause difference's in belief.

As for what God want's, He wants all of us to experience the full measure of his love and mercy. If it seems like only a select few have experienced this it's only because of their acceptance of revelation, not because God desired them to have more than you.

Servant_Of_Tjhe_Lord_Jesus, if you desire more don't ever think you are unworthy or not in the same class of people God has ordained. It's all about what you chose to believe, accepted, trust, and have faith in. If you want to believe in the impossible, then stop placing your limits on God.

Servant,I think I can explain best with a parable. I manage a restaurant. Our job is to serve others. We serve western food in a very western atmosphere (most customers call us a wonderful oasis).

When I hire a new employee he or she is typically a young person from a village with out prior exposure to a flush toilet, let alone any familiarity with the food, standard of service, my management style or my language.

I have hired them to serve others, but sometimes it takes me several years before they acquire sufficient understanding, knowledge, trustworthiness and ability for me to trust them to do so. While others can help me train them, I too must be involved in the process to gain the desired results.

My servers must be trained to move from the destitute village to the wonderful oasis. So it is when we go to work for God. Give Him time to prepare you for the service He has called you to. That too is the work of the Holy Spirit.

But remember He speaks in a still small voice.

Have you ever smiled at someone and it was just what they needed?
Have you ever just been kind or said something encouraging to someone and it was just what they needed?

There are many things we do that are nudges by the Holy Spirit. And those things can mean as much to someone as some of the 'great' things others do.

Don't despise the small things.
He is speaking to you. Recognize His voice. Do those little things and you are doing 'great' things just because you obey His leading.

Not everybody who claims God speaks to them all the time is correct in their assertion.

Some think every voice they hear in their head is God. My experience has taught me that most are not.

Some people are frankly dishonest about it all together. Some say this for attention, others for more diabolical reasons say “God told me” to control and manipulate people.


God has spoken to me dramatically. When I share, you might get the impression that this is a every day occurrence. This is a trick in our minds like when we read Acts and fail to realize that years and decades pass between some of the events. We lump them all together as if they all happened in the time it took us to read it. You can get the impression that God speaks to me more then you and that might not be the case at all.


I think however the main issue for us is that God speaks all the time and we don’t hear.

We expect a voice in our ear, or, a thought in our head, I have found that God speaks to me in a unique way. I have had to tune into his voice and it is something learned.

Did you know that Science has discovered an area in our brain totally devoted to an interface with God? They are calling it the “God Spot” It is no surprise to me. God gave me ears to hear sound, eyes to see, and a nose to smell. Why would he not create in me physical sense that interfaces with Him?

I believe we develop this sense and learn to recognize his voice through prayer and meditation. As we do, we find that he has been speaking to us, we just didn’t understand.

Hmmm. I would say that we just have different temperaments and personalities but we are all fearfully and wonderfully made and by the grace of God we are who we are. We need to accept the person God made us to be within our own limitations and strengths. I cannot be someone else, but they cannot be me, either. And, just because someone appears to be more spiritually in-tune than you may not mean anything.

In the church I was nurtured in, the most “spiritual” person in the church was a man who always led out in prophesy, interpreted tongues, led people to the altar, gave testimonies of his wonderful prayer life and times with the Lord, taught Sunday school, sat on boards and committees—to impressionable me, he was the epitome of what I wanted to be in the Lord. I envied him and made him my model, always wondering why I could not spend hours in prayer like he said he did or have the success in witnessing he claimed in his testimonies.

But time proved how hollow appearances can be. As it turned out, this paragon of spirituality not only had an eye for women other than his wife; he also was a pedophile with an eye for adolescent girls and an addiction to inappropriate contentography that proved his undoing (not to mention that of those he preyed on).

The point is, when we compare ourselves with the image others send us we often are victims of comparing ourselves to a false image. That’s why we are told in 2 Cor. 10.17, For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.

I think most of those that you hear on TV and such when they tell what God has shown them it sounds more sensational than it was. Not meaning they are expounding, but just that in their relaying the event it is perceived as a burning bush moment when in reality it was a breeze blowing through the leaves moment.

For me, whether I hear Him or not does not come from my demand or request that He speak but when I quit talking and let Him.

I'm reminded of a statement made by Joseph Prince, a Pastor in Singapore. He said, regarding prayer: "the one who knows nothing comes before the One who knows everything and the one who knows nothing does all the talking."

Meditate on His word and as you read carry on a conversation with Him as if you can see Him sitting right next to you. Ask questions about what you are reading....and listen. If you don't hear (your inner man) Him don't fret over it. Spend time with Him, like you would your best friend. Pretty soon you'll start to recognize that voice (in your inner man) and you will begin to hear what He's been saying but you maybe were just not quiet enough to hear.

I have have many times God has spoken to me in different ways, verbal, visions, thoughts etc.
I feel it is about what is needed in my life to learn and be obedient to what He wants me to do.
It is hard when you don't get an imediate answer, I haven't got there yet.
I have been told I don't give Him the chance to talk, If I constantly think and talk at Him ,how can He get a word in.

I am telling this as I feel it relates to me, not saying you are like this.

This is a very confusing issue, especially when you see people who constantly say 'God told me' - I have several friends - they are constantly giving words to each other that 'God told them' - they stay confused and life in an emergency all the time waiting on the prophesies to come true.

When you are saved you have a portion of the Spirit of Jesus in you - the Holy Spirit - Jesus said He would send a comforter - this is your comforter.

Jesus is with you ever step of the way - some seem to have more of Jesus than others - but this is not true. Now some will disagree with what I am going to say, but I will just tell you my experience.

I am 73 years old - I have been a Christian all my life - but not until about 20 years ago did I know what it really means to have a personal walk with my Lord and Savior.
I had a friend that had the joy of the Lord shine through her until I wanted that joy. So I started looking for it and reading about it - I was reading a book 'In the Shadow of His Hand' and I just put the book down and said "God if this is of You - I want it" - well a Blessing fell on me that was so strong it felt like electricity and I began speaking in my prayer language and for 3-1/2 hours I prayed and talked to God -

Now all those other years I was a Christian and I had the Holy Spirit - but I think that God lets us study and hunger for Him until He pours His blessings out upon us with a second anointing - which is the power to move in the Holy Spirit -

You have the hunger and God knows your heart - just keep drawing closer to Him, talk to him, the Bible tells us that Jesus is our friend - He walks with you all the time. You will hear HIs voice in different ways - something in the Bible will really pop out at you - that is the Holy Spirit tapping you on the shoulder saying 'this is from the Lord' - you will get a sudden urge to help someone - that is the HOly Spirit again tapping you on the shoulder - you will learn to pick up these things as the still small voice of the Holy Spirit -

Just walk and let the joy of the Lord shine through you and don't be discouraged because some people seem to hear louder than you - we all have different anointings and Jesus uses us in different ways and keep in mind - everyone that says 'thus saith the Lord' is not hearing from the Holy Spirit - it is the flesh talking - when that happens if it is not of God you will receive a check in your Spirit - just learn to follow that check.

Never think that someone else has more of the Holy Spirit than you do - God is not a respector of persons - His arm is around you just as strong as it is around anyone.

Why exactly do you want to seek the Holy Spirit? Sounds like a weird question I know, we should always want to seek after spiritual things, but what I have learned is that we need to seek after God for himself and not what he can give us, so ask yourself again, why are you seeking him?

We seek the Holy Spirit in order to be all that God desires for us to be--for His purposes. The Holy Spirit empowers us to become that which God has designed each of us to become.

Well, we BELIEVERS, who BELIEVE in our Lord Jesus Christ are all suppose to have the Spirit of God within our “spirit”, but that isn’t so, because: “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’” (Matt. 7:21-23)

You see mate, many whom you believe have the same “spirit” are mentioned in despatches above, and have the WRONG “spirit”. They are rebellious to HIS WILL, because they practice “lawlessness”.

“For false christs and false prophets will rise and show signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. But take heed; see, I have told you all things beforehand.” (Mark 13:22-23)

Now, if we are “THE ELECT”, then we won’t be seduced or deceived, because we: “know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men (an women) will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty (proud), lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” (2 Tim 3:1-7)

Now if we understand these verses then we will see through the falsehood of those who express all these things that you desire: “But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: ‘God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.’ Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” (James 4:6-8)

We can see that our Lord Jesus Christ “rejects PROUD people”, and “gives GRACE to the humble”.

We can also see that by our “submission to our Lord Jesus Christ” is our expression of FAITH. Are you FAITHFUL?

When we “resist Satan and his forces”, we are FAITHFUL. Are you FAITHFUL?

When we “draw near to our Lord Jesus Christ”, we are FAITHFUL. Are you FAITHFUL?

When we “cleanse our hands and purify our hearts” by “not being conformed to the world, but be transformed by the renewing of our mind (head and heart) that we may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect Will of God” (Rom. 12:2, then we are FAITHFUL, and then you will open that “SAFE”.

Well mate, you need to be very wary, because I’ve always found that the only ones who appear to be consumed, are consumed, but by a counterfeit.

Mate, Satan and his forces will gladly give you your heart’s desire, just like all those other people who you seem to be looking up to as an example of “godliness”.

Be aware, beware, and don’t be unaware of all these people who seem to express this “form of godliness”.

What you may feel is that you are different to the rest and have to pry His Kingdom open to get to HIM. Well mate, this is big fat LIE, from the "father of lies".

Mate, this week away from the forum, HE has put upon my heart the UNBELIEF that is within the Body of Christ.

There is NO select few whatsoever, as you assume.

Be very wary about asking HIM for manifestations, because like those who believe they are in touch with the Holy Spirit are being fooled, seduced, and deceived. Test ALL SPIRITS!

Many believers don’t really believe as much as they are to believe. They allow UNBELIEF to come into their life, and their PRIDE normally controls their UNBELIEF. And as sad as it is, we all tend to have UNBELIEF of PRIDE. We don’t see the PRIDE that is in us, nor in others.

Our Lord Jesus Christ “rejects PROUD people”, and “gives GRACE to the humble”. And we “submit to our Lord Jesus Christ” and through our submission we are expressing our REAL FAITH.

Many, are seduced and deceived by the doctrine of demons, and their pride overwhelms them believing they are being used by our Lord Jesus Christ, when in fact they are being used by the enemy.

When we “resist Satan and his forces”, and “submit to our Lord Jesus Christ”, then the “roaring lion will flee”.

When we “draw near to our Lord Jesus Christ”, then HE will draw near to us. Don’t be fooled by the “form of godliness” that others appear to convey.

When we “cleanse our hands and purify our hearts” by “not being conformed to the world, but be transformed by the renewing of our mind (head and heart) that we may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect Will of God” (Rom. 12:2, then we will see how false those people are.

The sad thing about it, my dear brother, we are taught the wrong way, and the wrong way is the false way, that “open gate to destruction”! How can so many believers be so wrong?

Our BELIEF, isn’t just merely thinking that our Lord Jesus Christ is the “Son of God”. Our BELIEF is the expression of our “faith” in whom HE is. HE is the “abundant river of life”, who is our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the “Son of God”: “The water that I shall give him shall become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life” (John 4:14).

Our Lord Jesus Christ is the “bread of life”, and we feed on HIM through HIS WORD. When we BELIEVE and FEED, we will then get nourishment and satisfaction from HIM by our belief in HIM.

Don’t badger and berate yourself, you are no different to any other true-blue believer. Be very aware of falseness and lawlessness.

that is because most people do not have the holy spirit, even most of the
ones who you have been speaking with and think have it.

the only way to receive the holy spirit is according to God's provided way. that is the entrance into the kingdom of God and the keys which unlock the gate/door into it, is as stated by peter in acts 2:38. repent, every one of you and be baptized in the name of the Lord jesus christ and ye shall receive the gift of the holy spirit

I think most Christians fall into this latter category. Some just don't get taught a lot about the ministry of the Holy spirit in their lives. it was like that for me for 10 years from 13 when I believed and was baptised and 23 when I received the infilling. It is kind of like what happened in the book of Acts with some believers in Epnesis in Acts 19.

1 Kings 17:9
"Go at once to Zarephath of Sidon and stay there. I have commanded a widow in that place to supply you with food."

I would encourage you to read this story in it's entirety, for you'll notice the widow woman never actually knew the Lord had commanded her. He spoke to her and she didn't even realize it.

Sometimes I think we want to "hear" from the Lord in the same manner as we hear from each other. Some people do, and that's fine, but just because the Lord may speak to you differently, and what may seem more subtly, doesn't mean His Spirit is not manifesting or that He's not speaking as clearly. Different callings lead to different manifestations, but none is more important than the other. In fact, I'd say the Lord has spoken to me most through mundane things and activities in life than through the "ooo" and "aaaah" moments.

I'd like to encourage you to give yourself a break and just rest in Him for a while, knowing that He's watching over you. The Bible says He directs the steps of a righteous man, so one thing I pray when I'm not sure of what He's telling me is that He'll order my steps, and then I trust that He brings about the circumstances that will cause me to follow the steps He has ordered.

True Faith is trusting in Him even though we're not really entirely sure of what He's doing.

The Bible also says that He came that you might have and enjoy your life, and all these things that just bring you frustration and confusion are not helping on that journey. Part of waiting for our destination is being able to enjoy the journey there. I hope and pray that you will be able to enjoy your journey.

IMO, I think that it is dangerous to seek experiences, feelings, visions, prophesies, etc. We just have to seek God's righteousness and His will above all else. If it's not His will for us to have ANY experiences, best to be content with that
