What do you think the underlying message of this image is?
Something is very strange about this...
What do the people really see in Obama?
Some have even referred to him as the messiah. Does this image not paint that picture?

This thread wasn't meant to turn out like this! It was meant to provoke thought and mature discussion.
The idea was to show that the images that people paint of others often reflect their personal beliefs or what has been planted in their subconscious as a result of the environment that they have been exposed to.
I don't see the images that I posted as representing personal attacks on Obama. But the ones that were posted thereafter, except for a few, are merely personal attacks. Not necessarily by those who posted them; although, the one posted by pythons of Ellen White is obviously a personal attack on us, as it was clearly posted out of spite. And for that you should be ashamed pythons!
With that being said, it is obvious that a mature discussion isn't possible here.
Therefore, mods, please close this thread before it gets worse!
Given that the last image is the universally recognized image of the body of Christ "with Clinton's head attached to it", that's blasphemy.
I've never reported anyone on craigslist and don't intend to start now.
Those images are from sites that are not religious that make fun of political figures using religious Icons.
Certainly if my post showing that the hawkers of the Walter Veith DVD's reject the Trinity is removed then it stands to reason that religious Icons that have been doctored shouldn't be posted..
This is what you are doing,
That's exactly what I provided to the discussion wooba. RND's hatred of the Catholic Church enables him to justify posting anything (to include Clinton's head on the body of Christ).
My point remains, the Obama Icon is mere the MIA POW with Obama facing the other direction ( like the US held him captive ) but now he's broken free...
Who says I hate the Catholic church? The images posted were to simply show the similarity to 1) other Catholic imagery and 2) to show that it is not exclusive to one party or the other.
Your point is duly noted Pythons. I see the imagery of Obama (especially the one with the sun wheel) as I do the one of Bush, a take-off on Catholic iconography.
There was no attempt to inflame, just compare.
Great! Maybe an apology and the removal of that EGW pic would be in order. BTW, do you know Steven Korsman? The guys a hoot sometimes. Kinda like you!
I've heard the name RND. Does he have a website you can direct me to?
I am sorry that my posting of Ellen White within an iconographic context bothered you.
Remove the "clinton-christ" and I'll remove Ellen. Fair enough?
That one pic is the only one that got my dander up so I could care less if the rest of the pics stay.
It's the same website you got the doctored EGW photo.
RND said:The picture didn't bother me Pythons the obvious spite in which it was posted did.
RND said:No can do Brother for this simple reason. This isn't the Catholic board. It wasn't posted to offend you it was posted to draw a comparision regarding the topic at hand.
RND said:The fact that you are bothered by a photo of Bill Clinton supposedly taken the place of the "Blessed Mother" is your hang up, not mine. It also demonstrates how hollow and shallow Catholicism really is.
RND said:So? You aren't on a the Catholic forum Pythons you are on the Adventist forum. When I saw that picture of Clinton I wasn't offended nor did I think it would offend any of the Adventist here because none of them are into iconography.
The fact you are offended by what was posted on an Adventist web site is on you, not me. This might explain why I never venture into the main forum or Catholic thread and post things I know would be patently offensive to Catholics or other groups easily offended.
Pythons admit you posted your picture of EGW in order to inflame (your comments say as much) and remove the picture and I'll stop my complain against you. Otherwise you have to pay the price on your own. It's up to you.
I can certify that I didn't get the picture I posted off the same website you got your pics.
Nice try Pythons! If I didn't know you by now and what you are capable of that might be a good excuse. But you routinely use "spite" in your postings as witnessed by the post's you have made here that have been corrected.Wasn't spite, I merely showed you what you showed me, difference being I associated a religious person with religious Iconography whereas you associated various non-religious political figures with religious Iconography.
Pythons you completely missed the comparison that I was making.I would say a Seventh-day Adventist depiction of Christ would be universal in that any one, of any faith would know it's Christ. I've already told you this. The pic may have got my dander up but I'm hardly "offended" RND (I'm not fake that way). Who is going to argue that many people view Obama as a type of Christ. Not me.
You are kidding right? Catholics routinely use this imagery for Mary as well! Good night Pythons, must I report you to the Vatican? The Sacred Heart of Jesus is on the Icon of Jesus RND. You know that.
What?I posted that,,,,, what was it that I said? "You've done this"?
So? You got you pic from a Catholic apologetic's web site. I got mine from various blogs and news sources.

But the main difference is your post was in direct violation of the FSG's of this forum. The religious iconography I used was in order to make a point brought up in the OP, yours was to inflame and incite.
Pythons you completely missed the comparison that I was making.

What?
