So far I have only seen where the Pope is a father to kings. But I have yet to see a Pope claiming to be King of the World.

Of course it does. Personally, I think its fantastic that people have to reach back centuries to find a ridiculouis comment by a pope that they can make a big stink about. With most people you only have to go back about a day to find a dumb comment.

No Catholic believes the pope is God on earth. Thats just plain dumb. The person who started this thread just got through saying that we are supposed to be peaceful people, yet he stirs up a lot of ill will with a ridiculous thread topic like this.

I wish people would start practicing what they preach. You guys keep talking abiut Jesus: How 'bout a little less talk and a little more walk.

The inference is that the pope, who this thread is about, exalteth himself and is worshipped. What, do you think we are stupid or something? If you're gonna post something, man-up to it. Don't be the guy who lights doo doo on fire on someone's doorstep then runs away to hide in the bushes.

Catholic teaching has taught that he is able to alter divine law Jack...No one ever said he was considered god, though their teaching says he can mess with divine law that puts him in the seat of God which is total and utter blasphemy.

If you have read my posts concerning my understanding of the holder of the Keys and you should know that I see this office as having a Fatherly duty to all the people of the kingodm and that this person has the authority to act in the King's stead.

That should be sufficent to explain why I see no problem with this quote of yours. I see no further reason to defend it.

I also note that it nowhere states the Pope is the King of the World as your thrread titles implies.
