just quickly checking in a last time before going off to Thailand - actually I'm only flying there on Friday but I'm going to the UK tomorrow last week was quite busy...had my host family from the UK staying and not much time for anything else - we had a really great time will tell you more when I'm back from Thailand

First off I wanted to thank you all for the prayers for our son. It meant so much. His surgery went well. We did get home till later last night because they were running behind. Praying for his healing.

Speaking of screws in the body.........I just read a testimony last night of a young healthy woman who suddenly developed rheumotoid arthritis and was in terrible pain, being crippled by it. She got a hold of teaching tapes on healing and in her deperation listened to them 24/7. This was in the face of pain and the doctors reports of doom. They advised her to have no more children. She lived on steroids and various pain meds, and the doctors told her husband and father that this is the time to take that vacation for she wouldn't be around much longer. She kept listening to God's Word, and began taking it like medicine everytime she took her medicine, for it says in Proverbs that His Word is medicine. No change for a while, but she kept on nonetheless having nothing to lose.

The day finally came as she was heading to the doctors with terrible pain in her lower back that the doctor told her there are no joints there, that is where her kidneys are. She then realized she hadn't had any pain in her joints! The pain in her kidney was from the meds which were causing one of them to shut down. She got off the meds and was healed. Still the doctors said not to have children or she would come out of "remission". She had a girl anyway, joining the two they already had. During this time her husband approached things logically and scientifically and had not yet given his heart to the Lord though he had seen astounding things done in her body. He prayed to the Lord if He would give him a son he would serve Him all His days. The doctors said surely she should not have anymore children and after the miraculous birth of their third daughter placed the clamps on her tubes performing a tubal ligation, only the doctor put twice as many clamps on her. What the man asked was a human impossibility, but with God all things are possible.

She went in to the doctor saying she was pregnant. Sure enough the tests relvealed she was indeed pregnant. The doctors did x-rays to find two of the clamps had disappeared! They were no where to be found! She gave birth to son. The man had climbed the corporate ladder and had a high paying job, a 6 figure job, so leaving was not easy. But he had made a vow to the Lord. Turned out his company paid his salary, and gave him all his benefits while he went to school! He went to a seminary, graduated and they now pastor a church in Colorado - River of Life.

If clamps can disappear, so can screws.

Speaking of healing...

There is no reason why we cannot practice praying and believing for healing for own bodies. I was thinking of that this morning as I laid hands on myself and prayed for my back, which was hurting as I was doing Pilates.

I reminded myself of the many, many times I've been running and my knees started hurting. EVERY time I have prayed for my knees the Lord has graciously healed me--no more pain, I could keep on running. This is amazing, considering that I have banged my knees up a lot over the years--a fishing accident on a wilderness stream, for example, high speed skiing wipe outs, etc.

And then I discovered that I could also pray for other people's knees--and they were healed!!!!!! Isn't God so amazing!!!!!!! I love Isaiah 14:2 where it says, "you shall take them captive whose captives you were."

Well, I digress.... So this morning I decided to start praying for healing for the back problems I've had. And guess what? My back stopped hurting. Isn't God SO amazing.

Anyway, I just wanted to share this and encourage each of us. Lay hands on yourself, pray for yourself, believe for yourself, do this on a regular basis. You will see God move, and it will build your faith so that when God tells you to pray for someone else you will expect His goodness.

EVERY time I have prayed for my knees the Lord has graciously healed me--no more pain, I could keep on running. This is amazing, considering that I have banged my knees up a lot over the years--a fishing accident on a wilderness stream, for example, high speed skiing wipe outs, etc.

And then I discovered that I could also pray for other people's knees--and they were healed!!!!!! Isn't God so amazing!!!!!!! I love Isaiah 14:2 where it says, "you shall take them captive whose captives you were."

Well, I digress.... So this morning I decided to start praying for healing for the back problems I've had. And guess what? My back stopped hurting. Isn't God SO amazing.

Anyway, I just wanted to share this and encourage each of us. Lay hands on yourself, pray for yourself, believe for yourself, do this on a regular basis. You will see God move, and it will build your faith so that when God tells you to pray for someone else you will expect His goodness.

Forecast is for 9 inches of rain today here. Flash flood warnings, tornado watch....we are doing very well, still enjoying the AC. Some power outages in the state, but not here. Feel so bad for the people who have lost power.

We get some pretty good gusts of wind every now and then and the lights flickered once. Rain comes in spurts. Large puddles in the front and back yard. Can't see the street anymore. I think we've had 2 inches so far according to the reports. The storm is moving slowly so that's why all the rain.

The frogs are happy.

Ya know there is absolutely no problem with us laying hands on ourself, anointing ourselves with oil and pray for healing.
