The signs were was pretty tacky. And made worse since he decided to not visit wounded troops in Germany because he thought it was inappropriate for campaign trip. :o Just when I thought I couldn't respect him less.
Well, it gets better. Just hours after Obama's "Non-Political" Political Rally in Germany, his Campaign Finance Director sent out solicitations for donations, citing his 'Non-Political Political Rally'.

The protestor was chanting, "Obama, Jerusalem is not for sale." Since at no time during his visit did Obama make any offer to buy Jerusalem or any property therein, there was really no logical basis for the remark. Then again, logic seems pretty hard to come by in that part of the world...
Taking things a bit literaly, aren't you? It's pretty obvious what the protester was upset at, and it wasn't an 'attempt to purchase the city'.

I suppose if you studied the Bible, and knew something of the anthropology of the Luo tribe's religious beliefs, you could understand that indeed, calling on the name of spirit ancestors is part of larger practice of african spiritism. To be named after a spirit ancestor translates to being named after a demon when looked at through Christianity. Chrisitianity is the faith of the founders of our United States of America. America is not an animistic or a demon worshipping nation. When we consider it harmless that a prospective US Presidential candidate is named after a demonic spirit, one can only conclude if he leads, he will lead us into darkness and bondage.

Okay, maybe demon doesn't mean anything to people on CF right now, and to be named after a demon sounds harmless. And to be named after a demon, while professing christianity, while favoring the belief that God wants to damn America, means nothing to a lot of members on CR right now. But it doesn't change the fact that God, Jesus Christ condemns worship of demons. Afterall, Jesus' example was that he CAST OUT demons not conjured them up for majic or whatever.

Here is excerpt from an article entitle "Luo Animistic Beliefs and Religious Practioners..." by Dennis Okoth, regarding how Luo diviners call unholy spirits to do magic: "The methodology used by diviners involves rubbing one flat piece of wood block on another calling names of spirits. When two pieces stick together, then he has spotted the spirit and will be able to deal with it."

Senator O is named after a demonic spirit, and when you say his name you are calling on the name of a demonic spirit. I'd say, based on his choices of pastors (i.e., Wright), like the demon world, he merely gives lip service to christianity, while on the other hand he is guided by unholy forces.

What is the significance of double-minded believers like the demon named Senator O?
It is a fact that one of the man problems effecting Luo tribe conversion to Christianity is that they play a game called "syncretism", that is trying to hold both christian beliefs and their old cultural demonic spiritism. Whereas, true Christians know God condemns the double-minded, calling them "unfaithful in all there ways"

We don't need a demonic named US President, or a double minded leader leading us into unholiness.

Besides, if Obama literally tried to buy a city, wouldn't he buy Mecca? ;)

So wait, we're freaking out because one person doesn't like Obama in a country that doesn't even make that decision? And because he had banners up on a quote on quote "campaign trip" (you guys said it, not me).

Also, Obama in a yamaka is funny. :D

I heard about this earlier and thought it was pretty funny.

The signs were was pretty tacky. And made worse since he decided to not visit wounded troops in Germany because he thought it was inappropriate for campaign trip. :o Just when I thought I couldn't respect him less.

Did his campaign direct or endorse the placement of the signs, or were they just put there by supporters?

If the former, then yes, I believe placing signs on such a hugely sacred religious monument was inappropriate. If the latter...well, I still consider it inappropriate, but we can't exactly blame Obama then, can we?

Oh, there it is. African. That's what's being singled out here. (Of course, there is no such spiritual tradition as "African spiritism," as each tribe has its own traditions, but of course they're all just weird savage black people to you.)

Maybe Obama should change his name to Bob, Tom, Rick, or Eugene. You know, a nice "Christian" white name.

What's truly sad is you can't see the inherent, glaring racism in your posts.

I have to look for it, but the articles I read said his people put the signs up.
The signs were hung around courtyard of the Wall, and were put there by Obama's people.
The visit to the Wall was an unannounced visit...at 5 in the morning.

While I don't see anyone on here 'freaking out', I do see people who think hanging campaign signs around a site
sacred to a large number of people is the height of tackiness....especially when it's supposed to be a 'fact-finding
mission, not a Political campaign. You're really in the tank for Obama if you can't see anything wrong with that.

To be more exact the spirit that is called by the name of a Luo person is a "juogi" a particular type of spirit, which the Bible would call a demon (fallen angel). Contemporary Luo are no longer aware of "juogi" (not to mention Americans are clueless) much since they are losing their original understanding of these words. But what matters is that Senator O's great grandfather was named after a particular juogi (demon) whose name could be roughly translated as "Twisted One" in english.

I refer to African spiritism to identify on which continent it is practiced originally

4. Whoever tagged this thread with, "we're not all this crazy" we know that. This type of ... "specialness" isn't found in any one religion or lack there of.

That was me. I meant us McCain supporters aren't all this crazy, but yeah, us Christians works too. :sigh:

Demons not an issue for Chrisitians? Jesus Christ set the example of his concern by several confrontations and casting out demons.

Remember we struggle against spirits and forces of the darkside....I am gonna keep on struggling against the activity all forms of demonic activity and dark power. That's why I say, "resist the devil (and demons) and he (they) and his ignorant and deliberate servants will flee from you."

Watch and pray, and don't forget to not vote for Senator O for US president.

So let me see if I understand you're point: Obama has a demonic name (of which he had no choice over) that invokes a demon (if you rub two blocks of wood together) all of which he himself doesn't know (or apparently any American except you) and since he's a Christian he doesn't worship demons anyway. (but you don't want to take any chances) And you feel that's a good reason not to vote for him. Does that sum up your view?

It sounds pretty convoluted to me.

I'd think your bigger problem is all those pagan gods being invoked every time you say what day of the week it is. :sorry:
