yes I agree that for the most part the 'reps game' has goten really blown up out of proportion, which is why I have actually begun to participate - because as it is actually a 'game' in itself now, well, how is it bset to say? most of the 'players' know who the other 'players' are and how they have come about thier reps (wether by means of having loads of friends or by any other way ie buying reps or making thier own accounts to rep themself and make it look as if they are popular.

however yes there are good threads there that still deserve some respect such as those that you have offered and I especially

rmw8855's reputation avalanche (surprising various members by directing other thread posters to shower said surprise member with a shower of reps),

The Reputation Thread was started by USNavyBlueAngel and is a good place to simply sprinkle some random reps if you wish.

and I am considering starting a thread where we at pet forums may also perhaps ask for pet forums donations sent to pet forums in return for reps given out, kind of like a reps avalanche in reverse. we would accept one person per time period (say one per every two days to give everyone a chance to sign in) and we could each rep that person say 10 times in that two day period (more if you would want to) in return for them making a donation to pet forums on docs account.

let me know what you all think and if someone wants to 'host' the thread. I will if no one else wants to but it is really not my first choice in getting out there.

From what I understand this would be going against CF rules for the pet area. You would want to ask the Doc. about this, Before starting anything.

Or, you could ask Kristen.NewCreation...maybe those rules have changed now that the asking for reps has changed This is something that you would want to Ensure would be okay for us to do...used to be not and Still is intact as far as I know. You know how I am 'bout askin', Never hurts and often is very helpful!

yes this was also in mind as I was considering it, which is why I wanted to open a dialog about it before going ahead with anything like this. there have been several rule chagnes about reps and many people are using reputation as a means of commodity to be traded for compensation or commerce.
