Have you heard of him? I see him on ABC Family very early in the morning. His website boasts "radical grace preaching". So true. In one of his messages, he said something about how we could have Samson's gift of strength (which, oddly, wasn't the first time I had heard of such a thing). And he's in Singapore which is just cool. LOL Do we have some Singapore natives on the forum?

I am planning to attend the Hillsong Conference in Sydney in July. (Hopefully God has the same plans.)

Joseph Prince is scheduled to participate in the week long conference.

What I miss most living here is church. On Sunday before the conference I will be able to go to services five times at the church, then the conference itself is 5 days and 5 nights of preaching teaching and worshipping.

I went two years ago. Since I only get to go to church once a year, the Hillsong Conference is a good fix for old church junkie me.

I am looking forward to this young man and his message of grace.

My last post jumped the thread from page 7 to page 2. So maybe this post will jump it to the front.

KBT when I saw this post I checked airline ticket prices to Singapore cause not too many churches with English services are in Asia. But for pretty much the same price I can go to Australia, so I'm ok now to wait till July.

Just out of curiosity, did he happen to mention just HOW we could have Samson's gift? As nice as it would be, I don't really have much use for it, but the wisdom of Solomon would come in quite handy from time to time.

I've heard him a few times. Is he half Chinese half Caucasian or Indian? I'm just trying to figure that out. He certainly has a distinctive Singaporian accent. He's the first Singaporian I've seen inthis part of the world. I've been to Singapore several times.

I liked some of his teaching on grace. I don't agree with him that prophecies always have to be about 'positive' sounding things, and that prophecies of bad things to come are witchcraft. That's the way I interpreted what he said one time.

He was just saying that the same spirit that gave Samson his physical strength resides in us today...

I have really been blessed by Joseph Prince's messages as of late. I watch his program on DayStar every day. I've learned so much from him. One of the things that I learned is that even if you don't have much, just give God what you do have, and He will bless it and cause it to be great. It's that way with finances or your career or health or whatever you have.

Pastor Prince is half Chinese and half Indian......and all Singaporian! :D He said God made him that way so that he could pastor both races......and get to tease them both too! :D

And about prophecy, well, he was teaching on NT prophecy being positive and uplifting because of the finished work of the cross.

Be blessed!

;)

Some of the teaching I have heard from Joseph Prince is interesting, but if I was a well-known pastor and Bible teacher, I would do something to make myself a little less "metro", like get rid of the lavender suits, cut my hair where it's not so Backstreet Boys, et cetera. This is not to be rude, but every time I've seen the guy, he just looks like a swishy version of Donny Osmond to me or something. I mean, he is a good teacher and all of that, but the other stuff makes it hard to listen to the guy, so I just turn it off when I see him. Sorry to offend anyone there :holy:, just my own opinion.

Currently I don't go to church but I listen to his messages every AM at 5 eastern and 12:30 AM eastern Saturday on TBN live stream. I have been blessed by this Pastor and have ordered his Grace and Favor Seminar set and the Benjamin Generation, the Benefits of Fire Tongue and a few more.

I wish he would come to the US to teach every once in awhile. God bless him. I feel comfortable listening to him. He doesn't make me feel like most preachers have. The "Thou shalt respect me I am Bishop" type attitude. He makes me feel like a relative, and for that I thank him. God's Grace and Annointing is all over him. Praise God!

ha ha, we Asians style ourselves rather differently from you Americans. We're more influenced by Japanese and Taiwanese fashion. Anyway, you shouldn't let a person's dress sense stop you from receiving what God has for you. Jonah's bleached hair and skin from the whale's stomach acid sure didn't stop the people of Nineveh from listening to him *LOL* :)

You're not alone. I can't really look at the guy. Too metrosexual.

Joseph Prince is 'Word of Faith'. He preaches the 'prosperity gospel', rather than the true gospel. Which is why his messages and prophecies will mostly be 'positive sounding'.

Another caution I would point out, is do you really think humble ministers of the gospel should describe themselves like this:

With almost two decades of full-time ministry behind him, Joseph Prince has become the leading voice for a new generation of believers — ...

A founding member and pioneer leader of New Creation Church, Joseph Prince initially served as an elder and associate pastor. However, his appointment as senior pastor marked a turning point in the history of the church, which started experiencing growth at an accelerated rate never before seen in its history. Under Joseph’s leadership, the church congregation has grown by more than a hundredfold — from about 150 to more than 17,000!

Joseph’s humorous, personal and practical style of preaching complements the fact that he is an anointed teacher of the Word of God. His dynamic messages have always been centred on the pure gospel of the grace of God based on the finished work of Jesus Christ. He moves in a strong worship anointing, ministering healing and prophetic words by the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Over the years, Joseph’s ministry as pastor, teacher and conference speaker has helped to set many people free from guilt and condemnation, and caused them to fall in love with Jesus afresh as they see His love, goodness and grace.

peace,
Simon
