Very interesting PEW poll here. It clearly shows the overwhelming majority of both college grads and secularists agree with liberal views. On the other side of the coin, the overwhelming majority of high school dropouts and church going Christians agree with conservative views.

Another poll shows us, the less you go to church, the more you are in agreement with people who have had an education of 4 years of college or more. Hence, the more you go to church, the less you agree with more educated people, and the more you agree with people who have had only high school or less.

Does this tell us anything? And do not think I am being a bigot, I am just reporting the facts. ;)

You call an opposing viewpoint a "disease"? Interesting.

there is no opposing viewpoint, nor could it be categorized completely. i do see indoctrination in academia as a disease. it is illegal and ends up of making college grads very uninformed about the real world.

Good to know I'm a conservative-lite (albeit anti-Church) going against the academia grain. ;)

When you think about it, liberalism is like a disease. Liberals tend to live in more densely populated, more diverse enivroments. Enviroments that would facilite the spread of disease. Where as red states tend to be much more homogenous and with a lower population density. Therefore it stands to reason that when children go to college and are exposed to the real world, they contract liberalism.

So the best idefense against liberalism is to drop out of school and never venture to real civilization.

or apply rational thought and disregard emotionalism as a first response to all issues. it also helps if one learns from history and doesn't think hugs from the international community makes past failed policies any better.

???

As if conservatives don't use emotionalism to respond to... anything involving abortion, gay marriage or kids being ostracized by the Church.

Are you diseased? I'm just wondering if I should take what you say seriously if you've been infected. :)

lol good one...i will leave it up to you to decide. the funny thing is i was liberal right after graduating. after studying issues on my own i found more truth in conservative ideals.

Characterizing your opponent as stupid does not win you any points with me.

Perhaps the polls indicate a bias in college education towards the conservatives, which can be demonstrated. Look at articles -- there are liberal agendas to the point of having professional college counselors attempt to brand conservatives as troublesome and not fitting in.

We're talking about institutions that have been set up often times to discredit conservative views so naturally the people which they produce will often be liberal. It is no surprise.

However, something interesting for you to consider is the education system of different countries.

Take Korea: top Universities have produced the staunchest of conservatives that there are. The three Universities that are at the top of the Korean system are known to be backlashing ethnic nationalist conservatives.

Yi Myeongbak, the leading conservative and staunch nationalist was produced from Goryo University and the other top conservative was produced from Seoul National University.

And who are the top two liberal contenders?

A graduate from the foreign University of Wales (Jeong Donghyeong) and a graduate from the English program of HUFS (Hnguk University Of Foreign Studies) who also studied in an American university to receive their masters (candidate Gweong Yongkil of the super left wing Minju Nodongdang).

To say that University graduates are 'liberal' or 'conservative' is often a reflection of the nature of the University institution.

Or maybe you have it backwards. Perhaps it's just the more educated you are, the more liberal. Reread the study again.

Interesting..I'm told I'm too liberal by my boyfriend, I guess that makes me smarter than him, lol. Interesting study. Since I'm an independent with liberal tendencies, where does that place me? On the average-above average area?

It is a poll about Americans.

My belief: American Universities are liberal. Korean Universities are conservative.

I cited reasons to believe American Universities are liberal.

I pointed out how candidates produced from Korean Universities are conservative while those from Western universities are liberal, indicating that college education has nothing to do with really your political stance on an international level but perhaps on a national level due to biases within American or Korean Universities.

You are ignoring what I am saying.

You need to confront the idea that Universities in America are liberal and that is the reason why college grads are liberals.
