Well, how about more info, GM. Your post was just a teaser! :D
Heh! Sowwy

It's about an Orthodox Jewish guy who becomes so anti-semitic that he joins a neo-nazi group. It's an astonishing film. So, so layered. Hard to watch at times, but I learned so much about Judaism from that film, and from all the forums discussing it out there.

Not an easy watch, but I completely recommend it. Also, it's based on a true story.

sounds like an amazing story - the young man must have been really filled with a lot of self hate. Without spoiling it - can you say, did the neo-nazis know he was Jewish? (they certainly wouldn't care about any denunciation on his part - they'd only look at his ethnicity).

Well, in real life, the New York Times did an article on the guy, and "outed" him as Jewish, so he killed himself. The people in his neo-nazi gang them admitted they'd known he was Jewish. Just such a senseless death :(

In the film, one of the others suspects, and as he gets drawn back into the faith, a couple of peoples' suspicions are aroused, but by the time the newspaper announces it, he's already brought the film to its conclusion. Won't say what it is, though.

But, really, can't recommend it highly enough.

I Am Legend looks like it's going to be a good movie.

just looked it up on IMDB - looks very interesting - but its in IMAX and I can barely handle that format (whenever I've seen anything in an IMAX theater I get queasy)

I do remember The Omega Man with Charlton Heston - based on the same book.

Interestingly Heston made several movies along the line of the end of humanity as we know it - of course there are the various Planet of the Apes movies and then there's Soylent Green (It's people, soylent green is made out of people). Probably was just the times - about the same time as 2001 Space Odyssey, Logan's Run and even (to a lesser degree) Escape From New York.

Oh, this is the film that's got me most curious. The trailer aired beofre Transormers, and another teaser trailer aired before Beowulf.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IvNkGm8mxiM

It's completely shrouded in mystery, though, so no-one knows anything about it. :excitedness:

Young Frankenstein

I had to see this movie at least 30 times and roared with laughter each and every time. :D I rented it not too long ago and watched it with my kids and they roared with laughter too!

Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: Igor, would you mind telling me whose brain I did put in?
Igor: And you won't be angry?
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: I will NOT be angry.
Igor: Abby someone.
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: Abby someone. Abby who?
Igor: Abby Normal.
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: Abby Normal?
Igor: I'm almost sure that was the name.
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: Are you saying that I put an abnormal brain into a seven and a half foot long, fifty-four inch wide GORILLA?

Classic stuff!! :D :D

Fish called Wanda

Another comedic classic!

Just don't call me stupid!!!!

I see you are Mel Brooks fan. He made some truly funny movies.

*Note Wanda is not Mel Brooks.

I remember Soylent Green, I thought it was really weird, but couldn't remember what the plot was. The original PotA was one of my favorites for quite a while (shows you how deprived (or is that depraved?) I was. :p

Don't you just love Will Smith as he is
An awesome actor I think!

If I may share a story here. I was in DC a couple of weeks ago visiting my sister and she told a story on herself. She routinely passes a movie theater on her way home from work and that particular theater has movie premiers several times a year. The premiers tend to tie up traffic (big surprise). Last summer Emily said she was driving home from work, it was a really nice day so she had all her car windows open. The radio was playing Diana Ross' "Ain't No Mountain High Enough." Emily, being her typical self was singing along - very loudly. She said all of a sudden she realized that she was stopped right smack in front of the movie theater and there was a limousine parked next to her - and who should get out of the car but Will Smith. :o She said there's no way he couldn't have heard her singing. :o I asked her did she stop singing when she saw him - she said no, didn't make any difference. ^_^ I was a tad disappointed that he didn't sing along with her though. :sigh:

Edb19, Interesting Story about
Will Smith as I just saw "I Am Legend"
You have to see the movie all the way
As he and a couple of other people are
In the movie but it is him 90% of the time
In it.
