A Goodnight Prayer...

Lord God, I thank you for the wonderful day you have given to us. The trials, the triumphs, the glory and the blessings. We thank you for all of them. As we get ready to put our heads to the pillow Lord, may we clear our heads of any unGodly thoughts and issues. Father we give You all our worries and our cares, for YOu alone can deal with them.

AS we sleep, may we feel your peace and wake up refreshed and renewed in Your Spirit. Ready to go through another day and be a witness of Your love to others.

That is a wonderful prayer. I thought I'd share some verses with you, I hope you find them uplifting and encouraging!

"But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slow to fulfil his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you."

2 Peter 3:8-9

"Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith. <> For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Heb. 12:2 & Heb. 4:15-16

Whatever else we try to find our fulfilment in, it will not last. We can seek happiness in relationships, career success, or stable finances. But in the end it all counts for nothing - good as these things are, they are not meant to bear the weight that only God can. Only Christ can fulfil us - let Him be your Lord, your Saviour, your friend. God bless!
