What is a Beit Din?

It means "house of judgement". It is a council that has the authority to decide.

On a serious note, why would a "Paul" be a part of the 12? He wasn't in the original Christian Apostleship.

Seriously though, there isn't an "answer" for the Beit Din in MJ'ism. Not yet anyway.

Ok... so Paul wasn't one of the original.. nor accepted by some as the replacement for Judas... bad example.

Which we create our own oral rulings, so that there is some consistence as to what represents MJ here on this forum. Many people come explore this corner to learn what we stand for and who we are. The multitude of answers in some sense truly expresses us as a group but it also doesn't. The Bible says there is wisdom in council, but we know from experience not always. We have such an influx of variety that all the new rules have no advisors, thus no clarifications. If we elect a body to hash out the rules, with pm them with input, maybe we can get a clear step forward and solidification of a perameter in which we can learn peacefully with each other.

I wanted it diverse yet truly MJ. I would want Henny on it, Torah, and I know I am forgetting some that I would like to include. I do believe we could....

Well if we had a Beit Din it would only apply to those who would receive full posting priviliges. Basically we could all vote as voting members when they apply.

Or we could have the elders. Of course a moderator team could see if they are a sock, but can we vote for a sock free society?

Actually we could call it something else. I do see a need for a group vote and testing of the spirit so to speak.

Many times when dealing with judgements I feel a need for this but we don't have the perameters set. Modeling our parameters after the Beit Din saves us years of trial and error.

A Beit Din traditionally has an odd number of members, to prevent ties - the most usual number is 3

3 is the most recurring number in my experience and research, but that is perhaps because it is the minium number one must have to have a vote
