reading comprehension again, i see a pattern....

rather than diagram the sentences for you, it is not the treatment you allege that is bepraved. It is the behaviour you advocate that is depraved.
Well Mr. Civil Rights Man, I advocate equal rights to all this country's citizens. You are advocating the exact opposite.

Why? Its not as though all Americans are equal why should they recieve equal rights? Some citizens are obviously superior to others so they should have greater rights.

I notice that 'trips keeps getting away with using "depravity" to describe homosexuality. That's a bit... generous... don'tcha think? After all, it's only depraved when he describes it based upon his two-millennia old morality. That morality was created to separate the population of a few small middle-eastern "countries" (for lack of a better term) from their oppressors, the Romans and their counterparts, the Greeks. Both of those cultures simply accepted homosexuality and promiscuous sexuality as the norm.

So here we are today, saddled with that same "morality" only it's taken on a distinctly vile tinge. Now days we understand much more than they did 2,000 years ago. We understand that some folks simply are attracted to those of the same sex, some aren't and some are confused. It's not sick or perverted or "depraved" it just is. But, because it's different we have the rallying cry of the Christian Agenda to deal with. If you're not aware every election that Karl Rove's been involved in if his candidate started to lose or the other candidate got too close guess what happened? The issue of gay marriage suddenly made an appearance. The Christian Agenda is to scare people into voting for their candidates by frightening them with acceptable boogiemen like gays.

You think there's a gay agenda? There is, to be treated equally and not be made into scapegoats for the Christian Agenda... which really isn't a Christian Agenda as most Christians don't want anything to do with it. They want to do what's right and kind and fair and good. But they've been sucked into the vortex and they hear words like "depraved" with nobody standing up to say otherwise. So what do you expect them to do?

Well, homosexuality is NOT depraved except in the minds of a few backward oafs who, like those that oppressed the women and the blacks of decades past have now moved on to gays. They don't like it that we equate them with those oppressors. They even bristle and hurry to pretend they're standing on the side of equality while at the same time they bar the door to gays. They know exactly what they're doing, they even think they're justified. But there is no justification for oppression and discrimination. It's wrong when it's done to women, blacks, gays or Christians. After all, weren't we told to love our neighbor not love our neighbor unless he's gay?

such language is quite unbecoming of a lady.

But it's the truth.

race is immutable and innocuous. depravity is not.

So what if homosexuality isn't immutable? Even if homosexuality were a choice, it wouldn't mean that it should be persecuted. Painting your bedroom blue is a choice. Should we outlaw that, as well?

Homsexuality is innocuous. All claims of how homosexuality hurts people are either:

a) common to heterosexuality as well. For instance "It spreads AIDS." Which is untrue; AIDS is spread by promiscuity and recklessness, not homosexuality.

b) based off religion. And the 1st Amendment says "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion."

c) based off of simple prejudice.

Now, the only argument that I somewhat agree with is people who say that "gay marriage" is against the definition of "marriage". But that's just semantics, that still leaves no reason to oppose civil unions with the same benefits as marriage.

NeTrips, have you seen this link? Almost the exact same things are said about gay marriage as were said about interracial marriage.

If you would support the black rights movement, and not the gay rights, then yes, you are a hypocrite, and no better than any opposer of the black civil rights movement. Once you have your rights, you are happy joining in the oppression. How is that anything but hypocrisy?

You really should move to England... or maybe India. I bet you'd love to be born into a class system where you can't ever move out of what you've been born into. Gipper the untouchable. That seems about right. Or maybe a toadie in England following some Lord around. Watching him stumble home drunk while you get tossed in jail for crossing the street in the wrong place. It's wonderful to talk so arrogantly until you're the one on the wrong side of that argument. Maybe we should just take those folks that can't remember "I" before "E" except after "C" and make them clean toilets all day.

Why is it those who proclaim themselves to be the most Christian always display the least Christian values?

You have nothing to add to the conversation so you choose to berape me? How mature. Obviously you cannot argue that there are just some people who do not deserve equal rights.

I moved to Toronto a year ago. Gay Marriage has been legal since 2003.

Fire doesn't fall from the sky.
No one is rushing to city hall to marry their sister, or 14 wives, or their dog.

Everyone just lives in peace.

It's embarrassing for me to look at the US, and wonder when they are going to catch up with Canada.

God doesn't care about Canada. America is God's nation.
