yes, she does. She's been doing the same thing for the last three years. You can set your watch by it.

You should really stop the Church shopping & address these doubts with your priest.

Just sayin...

I'm sorry. Please forgive me. I have no intention of leaving the Catholic Church by the way.

Can someone please explain this Bible verse to me?

Christ is the sole mediator of justice. His merits alone earn the grace we need for salvation. Likewise, it is He alone who reconciles us with the Father.

That being said, mediating grace and deciding how it is applied is something all Christians are called to do as members of the Mystical Body of Christ. By praying for others, ministering the word of God to others, sharing the Gospel and showing charity to others, we participate in the ministry of Christ that by Baptism we are commissioned to do. The saints in Heaven are no different.

I'm sorry. Please forgive me.
I'm not upset with you. :)

Nothing to forgive.

I'm just trying to make it easier for you.

If you have problems with the RCC then address them within the RCC.

Consult your priest.

Don't muddy the waters constantly looking in other Church doors.

Look to the source.

Look within yourself.

Go from there.

Nothing is going to fix this problem but deep introspection, prayer & guidance from the Church you belong to.

Not the Church down the street.

Read the Catechism. All these questions are addressed there. It will not contridict Scripture at all.

Stay strong Holly. :)

If you are not planning on leaving the Church then don't worry about it, Jesus will make up the difference. Stick around and bail water out of this thing with the rest of us sinners.

hhhmmm....something about patience, kindness, not counting the wrongs, but rejoicing in what is right.

Folks...No matter how many times she doubts, in all things, charity.
Amen.

Holly, just a suggestion: maybe you should spend some time in quiet meditation reflecting on why exactly you have doubts so often. You obviously can't be doing this for the rest of your life. Please don't take this the wrong way, but have you considered the possibility that you are always jumping around because you are looking for attention? I don't mean for that to sound offensive at all. I obviously don't know you beyond what I see posted here in CF every now and then, but I constantly get the feeling that the person behind your screen name is a hurt and injured soul that is looking for the love and attention that was denied elsewhere in life.

Okay, maybe I should sit down and reflect on why I doubt so often. And you may be right. Maybe that is why I doubt.

Hi everyone. I have been having doubts about the Catholic Church. I have even been considering the possibility of the Episcopalian Church. I need some advice and prayers. Please give me some advice and pray for me.

i know how you feel.. i have almost became episcopal several times.. probably because i always thought it was ok for priests to marry, and didn't think it was right that women weren't able to be priests.

but then i've realized that although women can't be priests in the RCC, they still play such an important role in the church, being nuns, and so forth. plus the church's love for the virgin mary is good enough for me as it is lol.

ether way, it's your choice, but just remember matthew 18 that says "upon this rock i will build my church." now portestants interperet this to mean that jesus was merely building a church on some rock.. but how on earth do you build a church on a rock??!!!!!!!?? jesus is talking to peter, and he's basically instructing peter to build the church (hence, peter, "petra" means "Little Rock.") peter started in jerusalem, but due to persecution, moved off to rome. hence, that's why vatican city is in rome. so the Catholic church was the church basically built by Christ. Hah protestants have only been around for 500 years! and denying the Catholic church.. it's such a shame! because yes, there might be some rough times with the Church, but that doesn't mean a person (like martin Luther) should just go off and form his own denomination. Paul comments many times about the need for unity, and universal agreement.

trust me, i know how it feels sometimes, when you just think "well maybe this denomination would be better." but please, please try and stay with the RCC. it has done so much for the people. it's the truth!! did you know the catholic church donated more money to the great people of new orleans then all protestant denominations COMBINED!!! and catholics only make up 24% of america (although 47% of new borns are catholic :)) there ar eover 700 catholic hospitals in america alone. if all catholic hospitals all of a sudden closed down at once, our nations health system would literally go corrupt. hah in my city.. let's see... there is saint davids, and they have 4 hospitals, there's Seton who has 4 or 5, Brackenridge.. i would say 80% of hospitals in my city are catholic hospitals. and if these hospitals closed.. whoa... the RCC is one of the only denominations that actually has animal shelters.. hah, there's saint francis of assisi animal shelters popping up all over!!

without the catholic church, this coutntry would be nothing. you know who came up with hospitals? the Catholic Church. you know who came up with universities? the Catholic Church!!

and i think we all should realize how great this Church really is, not just at a spiritual level, but at a personal level.

now if you do choose to leave the RCC faith.. well, the episcopal church is a great choice. episcopals and catholics have always been sister denominations. many episcopals become catholics, and vice versa. so i think that picking the episcopal church is a great choice :). but staying with the RCC would be even better!!

Just a slight correction. :)

As a former protestant it is generally believed that Jesus was referring to Himself & Peters belief in Jesus as the rock that the Church is built on.

Neither protestant Christians or Catholics ones believe that he was referring to a literal stone on the ground.

Just had to comment. ;)

Hey PeaceLover,

About 1 Tim 2:5, Christ is the mediator who brings us all back to God the Father. No one else is capable of this, only Christ. This is not the same thing as praying for each other - this is intercession. We all intercede for each other, why would that stop in heaven? But Christ mediates the New Covenant. Mediation is not the same as intercession.

Have you considered getting a good spiritual director to help you with these doubts? It's great that you are turning to us for reassurance, prayer, and answers to your questions rather than turning to other beliefs. But perhaps someone (maybe your priest or a religious of your parish) could encourage you in real life? Also, you are certain that the Catholic Church teaches the Truth, if you are having problems with doubts, avoid discussions where contrary opinions are expressed. This is Biblical, check out 1 Tim 1:4-7. Don't wander into 'vain discussion' if it will damage your faith.
