Ohh---

Not sure what you meant? Please explain?

You said "there is a bill out called HR 487 which is against this merger".

I provided a link to HR487 which is about the Secretary of the Interior. I guess you didn't bother to check the facts.

Don't you verify things, or do you just post randomly?

CCGirl--

How? Because he killed an very large amount of his own people; raped the bride if he knew a couple was going to get married (things like this continually). I guess dictators always do these things? This is normal for a dictator? Yes, I agree -the U.S. does support certain ones for their own agenda - its called the lover of $$ agenda.

:o Huh? Please link to these horrible atrocities! I have no love for Saddam Hussein, but his crimes have been greatly exaggerated. Hitler is responsible for over 62 million deaths throughout World War II. Hussein is accused of roughly 1 million , and convicted of 148 deaths and many of the tales of atrocities have been proven false, for example the "people-shredder".

Furthermore, in contrast to the slanderous and poorly researched (well, clearly totally unresearched) article, there is no European Constitution.

Ah, but there will be a European constitution. Whether the people want it or not. What will happen is that the politicians there will continue making minor modifications and pushing it until it is passed.

You can vote any way you want to on it, as long as you vote yes.

Like it or not, all individual European countries submerged in the EU will eventually have about as much relevance to global politics as, say New Jersey does from within our 200+ year old union.

At least with a North American Union, there will be only three partners - of which economically and population-wise, we will dominate.

He who has the gold, makes the rules.

Sorry, Ohh,

I will look into this but I DO check the facts and don't randomly give out addresses. In fact, I'm just the opposite if what your accusing me of. I must have put an address down that didn't link directly to it by mistake.

You didn't give an address. You simply stated that there was a bill, and gave the number.

I have no idea how you got to the Secretary of the Interior.

If you had bothered to click on the link I provided, you would have seen it. I looked up the reference you gave: HR487. This is not the same as a resolution, which you are now referencing. A resolution is not a "bill".

http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/amlaw/lwhbsb.html

HR487 is not HCR487. The "R" doesn't even stand for the same thing. A concurrent resolution is used for things like congratulating another country on the anniversary of its independence. It doesn't have the force of law. It is window dressing.

Again its clear for you now Ohh. I gave the address at the beginning of the thread originally.

Yes, it was clear that you were confused about the differences between a "bill" and a "concurrent resolution". I hope I was of some help to you in this area, and that now you see the difference. I know I learned a few things in doing the research.

By the way, it looks like the resolution was not passed, and has died. As far as I know, it hasn't been reintroduced, although I haven't checked specifically. Perhaps it's not as much of an issue as some originally thought?

I thought the United States of America was a Federal Union like the EU.
Joining the United States of Mexico with the USA would be an economic disaster for the American middle class and social programs.
US and Canada works economically but Canada is part of the British Commonwealth isn't it. Would that then make the USA part of the British Commonwealth.

This north American Union would have to be ratified by the house and senate right?

The John Birch Society has been correct about most of the stuff they thought would happen. The could not change or stop it, but they could predict pretty well.

Oh, my. Oh, dear. What a fascinating statement.

Could you give some examples? I dated a girl in high school whose family was heavily involved in the JBS, so I know a lot of that stuff. I'm just not seeing the USSR, anymore, for example, which was one of their major issues.

To CCGirl:

Saddam was one of the worst dictators in history in the grouping of Hitler, Stalin (you know all those individuals). Saddam thought Stalin was a hero and read all of books. Because of many articles on Saddam and his evil deeds go to Worldnetdaily and reseach it for yourself.

If you want to think that america has made him out to be worse than he is that is your view. But the reality is- he has done this to himself and will be the only one accountable before God for his actions.

People need to do their own research.

The merger may not be stopped but at least preserve religious freedoms. No one will want to have to be like germany where a parents teenage child was taken away and now she was diagnosed with "school phobia". This happened in a certain part of germany. I won't be buying any germany anything until they get their false diagnoses changed. This is an outright attack on christians.

I'm not sure why a German schoolchild has anything to do with the potential North American Union. One might as well say we don't want to be like Nazi Germany, where they killed Jews.

Is there any evidence that a North American Union would restrict religious freedom?
