"Therefore, dear brothers and sisters, you have no obligation to do what your sinful nature urges you to do. For if you live by its dictates, you will die. But if through the power of the Spirit you put to death the deeds of your sinful nature, you will live. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God." (Romans 8:12-14 NLT)
After your acceptance of Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, you have no obligation to live your life according to the dictates of your human nature. In fact, every situation that present itself to you, is an opportunity for the Spirit of God to manifest in your life. But we forget this often and revert back to the old ways.
You have to consciously engage the Holy Spirit to help you in every situation in life. Living by the dictates of our sinful nature will lead to death now and hereafter. However, with the help of the Holy Spirit, we can begin to knock off suggestions and dictates of our sinful nature. This will make us to be alive to God and dead to sin, the world system and Satan himself.
When we are being led of the Spirit then are we children of God indeed. This demand a continuous abiding and submission to Him. God is not calling us into once in while kind of life. He has called us into a continuous unbroken relationship with Him through His Spirit.
ACTION PLAN: Now that you are born again receive grace to trust and obey the Holy Spirit at all times.
PRAYER: Father,grant me grace to listen when you speak to me through Your Spirit. Help me to immediately obey You.
