"But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter." (Romans 7:6 NKJV)
The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ delivered us from the law. We are no longer under the power of the law. The law was a tutor that prepared the human race for the coming of our Lord Jesus. As soon as Jesus came and completed the work of our redemption on the Cross, the law fulfilled its purpose.
The law is associated with the oldness of letter. Everytime it is read, there is a veil that prevented the people from understanding it fully. When the King of glory came, the veil was taken away.
There is now a newness of the Spirit that has been bestowed on us by Christ. We walk and work by the Spirit of the living God. The same Spirit quickens our mortal bodies and help us to live lives that are pleasing to God.
ACTION PLAN: Check your life for every form of legalism and do away with them.
PRAYER: Deliver me from every form of legalism, help me to live by the help of your Spirit.
