Let’s assume that all things created by God are exactly as he meant them to be; therefore, since you were created by God – you are exactly as he meant you to be. You are a flawless design. Now, you might look in the mirror and see something less than what you would describe as flawless; however, for the purpose for which God designed you, everything is perfect. Your appearance, your mental capability, your physical capacity, and your spiritual connection to your Creator, were all precisely set in place by God.
“For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him.” Colossians 1:16 (NASB)
The complexity of God’s plan here on earth is so vast it’s impossible for us to easily understand how it all fits together. Nevertheless, you are an important part of the total package. Your extraordinary role has been carefully calculated by God. Every moment of every day you are contributing in some way to the intricacies of God’s plan. There are, of course, obvious aspects of your life that might be conceived as Godly contributions – like helping others and sharing the gospel – however, it may be that much of your reason for existence was designed to manipulate the unseen spiritual world in which God resides.
“By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible.” Hebrews 11:3 (NASB)
You are not the person you see in the mirror. You are a spirit living inside of that human body you see in your reflection. God has placed your spirit in that body so that it will be in the proximity of other spirits that you were designed to interact with in some way. These invisible connections happen every time you encounter anyone else – in person, in thought, in prayer, and even through electronic communication. You can be sure God has accounted for every aspect of our spiritual connection to those we are assigned to impact.
“The mind of man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.” Proverbs 16:9 (NASB)
God has designed and placed you where you are in an extremely precise manner. You are extraordinary because you are completely unique to your role in God’s grand plan. You may not fully perceive your extraordinary value to God, but you are without question his deeply loved spiritual creation.
