Who Are You Trusting?

"Thus says the Lord: Cursed [with great evil] is the strong man who trusts in and relies on frail man, making weak [human] flesh his arm, and whose mind and heart turn aside from the Lord. For he shall be like a shrub or a person naked and destitute in the desert; and he shall not see any good come, but shall dwell in the parched places in the wilderness, in an uninhabited salt land. [Most] blessed is the man who believes in, trusts in, and relies on the Lord, and whose hope and confidence the Lord is. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters that spreads out its roots by the river; and it shall not see and fear when heat comes; but its leaf shall be green. It shall not be anxious and full of care in the year of drought, nor shall it cease yielding fruit." (Jeremiah 17:5‭-‬8 AMPC)

Human arm of flesh is weak (very weak) when compared to God's strength. When we place our trust in another man rather than God, we are placing ourselves under a terrible curse. Woe and calamities awaits someone that rely on another man for help in this life. This kind of attitude is rooted in the fact that our hearts have departed from the Lord God. Any heart that departs from following and trusting God is unfortunate. All manners of misfortune awaits such soul. King Asa started well, but when he became influential by the help of God, his heart departed from following God. He backslided into trusting man and their expertises rather than trusting in God.
How did you get into your presence destitution? Is it by trusting in man? I urge you today to turn back and ask God for forgiveness.

ACTION PLAN: Our hearts have a way of sliding away from trusting God. We must commit them into God's hands. We need to constantly check where our trust is, over every issue.

PRAYER: Lord, I give you my heart today. Grant me grace to trust in you for everything.
