When my son was a teenager there would be times that he would call me to ask about doing something with his friends. I always asked the same two questions. Where are you? And, who are you with?
Now that he is grown with children of his own, I still care about his whereabouts and safety. I try not to interfere with his adult decisions and trust God to keep him via his promise, "Raise up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it."
I try to keep him in my prayers on a regular basis because I know that those prayers are permanent and will stay with him all the days of his life to protect, guide, and defend him. Our prayers for our children are more important than we could ever know or imagine. Each of us as parents are called upon to uplift them to the Father of us all.
May God keep them and watch over them both now and in the days to come. May He lead them in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. May He walk with them, and talk with them, and let them know that they are His own.
I pray that in all their ways they acknowledge Him, and He will direct their paths.
I pray that they make good choices of where to go and who to hang out with in Jesus' name.
