Our spiritual excuses, just like any other excuse, maybe legit but do not make our lives better! The only way to becoming better is to rise up to the standard of God's word. There is a standard that God defined for us in his word, our daily goal must be to attain to that standard, and no one attains to this standard by making spiritual excuses!
What does God have in mind for us? It is that all of us will come into the fullness of God, which was the words used in Ephesians 3:19 or the fullness of Christ, which were the words in Ephesians 4:13,
"Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ"
This is the work of those in the fivefold ministry, their work of ministry and edifying the church should all be geared into furnishing us to become the perfect man, that is the man who has attained the stature of the fullness of Christ! This is the point where we manifest Christ bodily in all our doings, it is at this point that 'as he is in this world so are we!' It is at this point we fulfill the master's desire for us that 'the works' he has done shall we do and 'greater works' than him we shall do!
Christ then becomes our model for victorious living!
While he was on the earth he once testified that the devil came and has nothing of his in me! He lived in a world ruled by Satan and yet that which is of Satan could not touch him! And it wasn't just him but also the one under his care! (Read John 17)
The whole world lies under the rule and wickedness of Satan! (1 John 5:19-20) this we stated in our last installment This is what the world says and we see evidence of this both in the word and in our present-day world! This is a world of the double kingdom! There is a physical kingdom of governance and structure that we can all see. However there is a spiritual kingdom that imposes on the policies, the rules, and the dictates of this earthly kingdom, and this is the spiritual kingdom that we cannot see but of which impact we can feel. This is where Satan and his cabinet operates from, controlling the physical kingdom to do it's bidding and will!
Ephesians 6:12 tells us that "we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the RULERS OF DARKNESS of this WORLD, against SPIRITUAL WICKEDNESS in HIGH PLACES"!
Look at this scripture again, it says the destinies of men and nations residing in LOW PLACES are controlled by and from RULERS AND POWERS in HIGH PLACES!
Kenneth E. Hagin of blessed memory called this double kingdom, 'a wicked kingdom reigning in the heavenlies, which affects the lives of men upon the earth. Unseen spiritual forces rule and dominate men who rule seen earthly kingdoms - if men let them!'
PRINCE OF TYRUS
We see examples of this in scriptures. In Ezekiel 28:2 the Bible records,
"Son of man, say unto the prince of Tyrus, Thus saith the Lord God; Because thine heart is lifted up, and thou hast said, I am a God, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas; yet thou art a man, and not God, though thou set thine heart as the heart of God"
This was a message given to a certain prince ruling over Tyrus, though his heart was lifted up and wants to be like God yet the Bible says he was a man. So this prince of Tyrus we know is a physical being, a man, who rules over the kingdom of Tyrus. But then in the very same chapter in verses 11-19, another prophetic word is given through Ezekiel but it was addressed to the King of Tyrus!
Ezekiel 28:12,13 tells us,
"Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord God; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created"
This scripture needs no explanation, the King of Tyrus was Satan and its prince was a man who like Satan lifted up his heart against God! The prince of Tyrus ruled his kingdom but we can see in the next verses where his attitude and policies emanated from, from the king of Tyrus of course! For the prince of Tyrus whose heart is ruled by the king of Tyrus and wants to be like God, do you think such a prince will allow the worship of our God? No! Today there are so many princes of Tyrus sitting over the nations and kingdoms of the world, trying in all their power to deny the worship of our God!
Another example we found is in Daniel 10:12-13,
"Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I come for thy words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia"
Daniel's answers to a particular prayer were delivered from the first-day intercession was made but there was a PRINCE OF PERSIA who would not allow the answers to be delivered to Daniel. In the physical, there was a physical ruler of Persia, but in the spiritual, there resides another prince who influences rules and controls the physical kingdom of Persia! In every locality, there are spiritual principalities, and powers and princes that controls or hinder the flow of spiritual transactions! Any church planter, anyone called of God trying to impose the influence of the kingdom of God in a particular location knows this much. They know that in every locality there is a principality! And until such principality is dealt with the kingdom of God cannot be established and flourish!
And there is a level that the kingdom of God pervades a location that soon enough the church planter or the son of God in that place soon becomes the principality of that place by reason of pushing the influence of the original principality out of that place!
However, these prices don't only control spiritual transactions they also influence governmental regulations and policies that control the destiny of humanity! David Icke, a renowned conspiracy theorist in his thirty years of research and work distilled into over 20 books of which each volume is as much as 2000 pages has shown with practical evidence how demonic entities rules and controls the affairs of governments and systematically influences the choice of our political leaders even when we think it's our votes that put them in place! Really? Nothing can be farther from the truth for those who understand the operations that goes on behind the curtains of which mainstream media are not privy to or cannot report! What took him years to research is well stated in scriptures, yet his researches cannot be dismissed because they put in practical perspective what the word already declared with certainty!
COVENANT OF EXEMPTION
However, for us who are born of God we know we operate with a covenant of exemption, Satan may have reign over the world but he does not have reign over our lives! The kingdoms of the world are the kingdoms of darkness, 1 John 5:19-20 tells us the whole world lieth in darkness, however when you become born again the Bible tells us that we have been translated from the 'kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of his dear son'! Where we reside the devil has no resident permit! Hallelujah! Where do we reside?
Ephesians 2:4-6 tells us,
"But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved
And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus"
Spiritually in Christ, our place of residence is in the heavenly where the devil has no spiritual.permit! It is walking in the spiritual reality and carrying this covenant mentality that separates you and delineates your physical boundaries from the rules and reigns of Satan! The word says we are children of light(1 Thessalonians 5:5) hence we are not subjected to the rulership of the prince of darkness!
Even as far back as the old covenant, the children of light have been enjoying this reality of the covenant of exemption from the evil in the world! In the land of Egypt, we see how darkness covers the whole land except where the children of light dwell! This aligns with Isaiah 60:1-3,
"Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon there"
There is a spiritual 'BUT' that exempts us from the negative realities in the world if we have an understanding of our covenant standing with God! It is this lack of understanding that has left us to the whims and caprices of the evil one, but by revelation, we are wrestling back control from the spiritual regulations of the devil! "I will not fear what men fear, I will not be subjected to the fears and evils of this world! I live over its mishap, sicknesses, diseases, and plagues". That is faith speaking, that is the covenant mentality of a man who understands his spiritual status in God!
Ye are of God and so you are exempted from the world. Satan may rule the world but he is not allowed to rule your space. We have the story of Job when Satan was walking to and fro the earth and he came before God's presence. The story says it all, please read Job 1: 1-11. Satan confessed that even though he walks to and fro the earth there is a person he cannot touch and it's all because God has put a hedge around him! Hallelujah
Knowing your spiritual edge builds a spiritual hedge around you! Your spiritual edge is your vantage position in the covenant secured by knowledge, your spiritual hedge is the resultant effect of that knowledge, the spiritual protection that is placed around you.
