Sunday, November 09, 2008, 10:22 p.m. – I have this song in my head:
Speechless / Steven Curtis Chapman
Words fall like drops of rain
My lips are like clouds
I say so many things
Trying to figure You out
But as mercy opens my eyes
My words are stolen away
With this breathtaking view of Your grace
And I am speechless, I'm astonished and amazed
I am silenced by Your wondrous grace
You have saved me
You have raised me from the grave
And I am speechless in Your presence now
I'm astounded as I consider how
You have shown us
A love that leaves us speechless
So what kind of love could this be
That would trade heaven's throne for a cross
And to think You still celebrate
Over finding just one who was lost…
The Lord gave me A VISION: I saw Anderson Cooper and then I saw John Boehner. And, then I heard this song, Speechless. Then, I saw John Boehner again and then there were evil spirit-looking things floating all around him. And, then I saw Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. And, then I heard this song:
In Better Hands / Natalie Grant
It’s hard to stand on shifting sand
It’s hard to shine in the shadows of the night
You can’t be free if you don’t reach for help
You cant love if you don’t love yourself
There is hope when my faith runs out
Cause I’m in better hands now
It’s like the sun is shining when the rain is pouring down
It’s like my soul is flying though my feet are on the ground
So take this heart of mine there’s no doubt
I’m in better hands now
I am strong all because of you
I stand in awe of every mountain that you move
Oh I am changed, yesterday is gone
I am safe from this moment on
There’s no fear when the night comes ’round
I’m in better hands now
Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening. I read Hosea 11:
God's Love for Israel
1 "When Israel was a child, I loved him,
and out of Egypt I called my son.
2 But the more I called Israel,
the further they went from me.
They sacrificed to the Baals
and they burned incense to images.
3 It was I who taught Ephraim to walk,
taking them by the arms;
but they did not realize
it was I who healed them.
4 I led them with cords of human kindness,
with ties of love;
I lifted the yoke from their neck
and bent down to feed them.
5 "Will they not return to Egypt
and will not Assyria rule over them
because they refuse to repent?
6 Swords will flash in their cities,
will destroy the bars of their gates
and put an end to their plans.
7 My people are determined to turn from me.
Even if they call to the Most High,
he will by no means exalt them.
8 "How can I give you up, Ephraim?
How can I hand you over, Israel?
How can I treat you like Admah?
How can I make you like Zeboiim?
My heart is changed within me;
all my compassion is aroused.
9 I will not carry out my fierce anger,
nor will I turn and devastate Ephraim.
For I am God, and not man—
the Holy One among you.
I will not come in wrath.
10 They will follow the LORD;
he will roar like a lion.
When he roars,
his children will come trembling from the west.
11 They will come trembling
like birds from Egypt,
like doves from Assyria.
I will settle them in their homes,"
declares the LORD.
My Understanding: This song, Speechless, is a song about God’s grace and how it leaves us speechless. It is a song that celebrates God’s love for his children and it celebrates the gift of salvation that we have because Jesus died on the cross for our sins and he rose again conquering death and hell.
This passage of scripture begins by exclaiming that divine love. It was God who taught us to walk in faith and obedience to his commands. He took us, his church, by the arms and he led us with cords of human kindness. He lifted the yoke of slavery to sin from our necks when he died and rose again. He bent down to feed us when he left his home in heaven and became a man.
Intermingled among these words of God’s wondrous grace are God’s words of sadness and deep concern for how his people have responded to all that he has done for them. The more he called them, the further they went from him. They sacrificed to the Baals. They were determined to turn from God. And, so he must judge them; correct them; discipline them in his “tough love.”
I believe this is where the church in America stands right now and God is ready to pass judgment on her, but he will mix that judgment with mercy. He will not altogether abandon his children. He will show us compassion. He will not completely destroy us. He will roar like a lion (his judgment) and he will allow us to be brought back under slavery and to have foreigners rule over us because we, as a nation, refuse to repent.
When the Lord comes with a roar, his children will follow him. They will come trembling before him. Then, they will be in those “better hands” spoken of in the second song, In Better Hands. We can’t be free if we don’t reach for help and we can’t stand if we are on shifting sand. When we surrender our wills into the hands of the one who created us, who loves us and who wants that kind of intimate relationship with him as described in the beginning of this passage of scripture, then truly we are in not only better hands, but the BEST and ONLY hands we need.
As far as the vision is concerned, the Lord is showing me much here that I don’t yet understand, but I do know that he is showing much evil going on right now surrounding these people mentioned. And, he is connecting these people to this sacrificing to the Baals, burning incense to images, and to the refusal of America to repent and to the ultimate punishment of bondage to slavery and having someone else rule over us.
A while back, the Lord showed me that someone was going to come out of Ohio (or the north) who was going to rule over us as God’s instrument of judgment against us, and John is from Ohio. The Lord also gave me several dreams about a man I knew from Ohio, John B., and this man in the vision is John B. (not the same one I knew). I have a sense that the Lord is going to give me more on John B.
