Jesus gave us this parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. But while everyone was asleep, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and slipped away. When the wheat sprouted and bore grain, then the weeds also appeared. The owner’s servants came to him and said, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from? ‘An enemy did this, he replied. So the servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up? ‘No, he said, ‘if you pull the weeds now, you might uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat into my barn.’” Matthew 13:24-30

And they will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. This system provides a perfect platform for abundant seed production based on ongoing efforts to evangelize local church membership. These churches provide a platform for rapid population growth by providing a watered down (false) gospel. They promote doctrines that are tolerable to congregations fostering adaptation to the changing environment around them. Finally, through the years these local churches have produced a great deal of vegetation (churchgoers) to provide for a strong reproductive culture.
Furthermore, just as weeds are troublesome to farmers when it comes to their harvest, so is today’s local church system when it comes to the Lord’s harvest. First of all, weeds reduce crop yield by competing for water, light, soil nutrients, and space. Secondly, weeds reduce crop quality by contaminating the commodity and interference with harvest. Today’s local church system promotes a false Christianity that deceives many by producing weeds (sons of the evil one) born from the seeds of deception. Thus, the outcome is a reduced crop yield (sons of the kingdom) as far too many choose to congregate there and remain blinded from the truth. Moreover, for those who are true followers of Christ, these institutions stunt spiritual growth causing reduced crop quality contaminating their congregations and thus interfere with the harvest of others. Therefore, just as Jesus taught His disciples this parable to make them aware of the weeds produced by the adversary, we must be careful not to get caught up in the weeds of deceit that have been planted by the devil to disrupt the harvest of our Lord.
