There is an agenda for every season, and your understanding of that agenda helps you to be properly positioned for its manifestation. And one way we position ourselves for divine intervention is through concerted intercessions".
These were the last few words of the last installment on this series. And its also from here we will begin the discourse for today's teaching! Through intercession, we facilitate Gods visitation. The prophetic word is sure but however, it is not automatic! This is where in facilitating its manifestation we must take the prayer posture!
Recall the Lord's prayer in Matthew 6:9-10: 'After this manner, therefore, pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom comes, thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.'
Heaven's will is already decided. Heaven's will is already done in heaven but for it to manifest on the earth Jesus said to pray! Read that again, 'thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven'. Heaven's will is already done in heaven, but to manifest on earth Jesus said PRAY! This is the focus, purpose, and thrust of prayer: to bring heavens will to bear on the earth!
Our 'prayerlessness' limits the manifestation of heavens will on the earth! On the spiritual wavelength of intercession, we provoke divine visitation!
If God's plan is already settled why is it important for us to set ourselves in intercession? There are one or two thoughts I will explore.
Gods plan cannot be stopped but can be delayed, our spiritual negligence may prolong that which belong to us! We must know that our glorious destiny is hotly contested by the enemy! There is a spiritual contention that may lead to spiritual abortion if there is no spiritual confrontation.
We are told of Daniel in Daniel 10:3, 'Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia'
Even though Daniel was spiritually alert, yet there was a spiritual blockade and a spiritual contention of heaven's settled will which was on its way to the earth to be manifested, but for concerted intercession, there would have been a spiritual abortion of God's plan or at least a delay. Now, how much more when men are spiritually asleep? Especially when men are spiritually undiscerning of the times and seasons? It is on this altar of spiritual negligence that many destinies have been altered and battered!
