What's Special About The New Year(4)

From the last installment of this series, we discover that there are yearly blessings that God has reserved for his people. Psalm 65:11 tells us that he crowns the year with His goodness! Therefore for each year, God has an agenda for his people.

In Genesis 17:21 he said, "But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year. And he left off talking with him, and God went up from Abraham". There are things that God has set ahead of us! And this is where the prophetic declarations for each year come in, they are a revelation of things that have been set ahead of us for each year!

Ephesians 1:3 tells us, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:". What prophetic declaration does is reveal God settled spiritual blessings in heavenly places!

At this time of the year, people usually talk about goal setting but I tell you of something much superior to goal setting, it is God's spiritual settings for your life: even before the year began God has already settled our lives! And those who have an understanding of times and seasons walk and work into their settled blessings. This is why an understanding of times and seasons makes you to be ahead of your peers(1 Chronicles 12:32). Because the understanding of times and seasons makes you know the right steps to take, the right goals to set so that you can appropriate all of Gods blessings for your life.

Look at the words of Jesus in Luke 19:41-44
"And when he came near, he beheld the city, and wept over it, Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes. For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side, And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation".

Jerusalem experienced frustration because she did not know the time of her visitation. So Jesus lamented "but now they are hidden from your eyes". Whatever is hidden from our eyes is also hidden from our lives. We can only access what we know is available to us and we can only possess that which is revealed to us!

Without an understanding of God's agenda, things are hidden from our eyes, we don't know the things that belong to us, we walk on in darkness and the foundations of the whole earth are out of course all because we fail to understand our prophetic positioning in God!
