What's Special About The New Year(3)

In the last two installments of this series, we have examined how both personal responsibility and an understanding of Gods prophetic agenda for each year helps to shape our lives. To further this understanding we look at the significance of tines and seasons, how God doesn't live within time but still works with time. For at the set time that God has purposed, He visited Sarah(Genesis 21:1). Every delayed blessing is for an appointed season. At Sarah's appointed time, Gods visitation brought life! Someone is coming to their appointed season. If you didn't read the first two installments you may want to go back and do that.

Like I did in the last installment I will love to quote from the previous installment of this series as we move into the installment of today's series
"The calendar has changed, things may still look the same, but coming on the horizon is an agenda of God for this time that will be made known to the discerning heart, and the discerning heart will be the one in command!"

Spiritual discernment enhances our spiritual positioning and how well we are positioned in God's agenda determines how much of it we see comes to pass during our days. Now we will come back to this thought in the future installment of this series. What I want to look at in this installment today is how God work from year to year. For when we talk about time, it is not specific. The word time may refer to now, or two weeks or two years or two hundred years. But when we talk of year we are specifically talking about 12 calendar months or 365 days! Does God have a yearly agenda?

First scripture that comes to my mind is Psalm 65:11, 'Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness'
God has his goodness reserved for us every year. So it is not out of place if we expect great blessings from the Lord every year. Now, this is the thought here, for 2019, for the coming 12 calendar months God has reserved goodness and fatness for everyone! Put in another way God has yearly blessings reserved. Just like he has daily blessings reserved. For Jesus said each time we pray we should ask: 'give us this day our daily bread'. And the Psalmist said in Psalm 23:6, 'surely goodness and mercies shall follow me ALL THE DAYS OF MY LIFE'. So as we have daily blessings we also have yearly blessings. As we have daily bread so also we have 'yearly bread'. Something great is ahead of you this year.

For every new year, God has a set agenda and a set blessings. In Genesis 17:21 he said, "But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year. And he left off talking with him, and God went up from Abraham". There are things that God has set ahead of us!
