What Is Sin Really?

Sin is you not obeying what God has told you is right,
up that that point in your life.

If you are a brand new believer, you have very little sin
in your life as you are not aware of what God requires.

You many think the 10 commandments are the extent
of your new commitment, but they don't even apply.

Matthew 19:19 Honor your father and mother, and love your neighbor as yourself.'
Luke 6:31 Do to others as you would have them do to you.
Galatians 5:14 The entire Law is fulfilled in a single decree: "Love your neighbor as yourself."
Romans 13:8 Be indebted to no one, except to one another in love, for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the Law.

Sin is a contract between you and God and no other persons.

New International Version
If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn't do it, it is sin for them.

New Living Translation
Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.

English Standard Version
So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.

John 9:41
"If you were blind," Jesus replied, "you would not be guilty of sin. But since you claim you can see, your guilt remains."

2 Peter 2:21
It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness than to have known it and turned away from the holy commandment passed on to them.

The law is subjective to you heart and mind.

Psalm 119
33 Teach me, O LORD, the way of Your statutes, And I shall observe it to the end.
34 Give me understanding, that I may observe your law and keep it with all my heart.

Psalm 119:73
Your hands made me and fashioned me;
Give me understanding,
that I may learn Your commandments.

Galatians 3,24
So then, the law was our guardian until Christ came, in order that we might be justified by faith.

James 2,10
For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become accountable for all of it.

Romans 10,4
For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

Romans 6,14
For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.

For believers, this is quite a big change.

James 4,17
So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.
