Week 9 - Hope rising....

Hope is rising as resistence is taking shape. This last week Bernie Sanders and AOC traveled the southwest doing their Fighting Oligarchy rallies. They went to the district of a Republican who isn't doing town halls, and 11,000 of the 100.000 population showed up. They went to Denver, Tempe, Tucson, Las Vegas as well. The crowds were receptive.

Meanwhile, the judiciary is standing up for America. As of March 21st, there are 132 lawsuits against the Trump administration.



On the impoundment issue, the Supreme Court recently rejected the Trump administration’s request to block a lower court order compelling the administration to make approximately $2 billion in payments to foreign aid organizations. ......
It’s worth noting, moreover, that at least two of the Court’s Republicans have previously expressed skepticism about impoundment. Justice Brett Kavanaugh wrote in a 2013 opinion that “even the President does not have unilateral authority to refuse to spend” funds appropriated by Congress. And Roberts wrote in a 1985 White House memo on impoundment that “no area seems more clearly the province of Congress than the power of the purse.” (Though it is worth noting that Roberts also suggested, in an attachment to that memo, that the president may have greater authority over spending relating to foreign policy.)​
Chief U.S. District James Boasberg ruled against the Trump administration regarding the deportation of immigrants without due process. Due process is in the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments of the constitution. Trump is sending people out as criminals, though some were here legally and not the gang members Trump's people said they were.
In response, Trump is talking up impeachment for the judge. But Chief Justice Roberts had something to say about that!

As the chief justice explained in his statement, “For more than two centuries, it has been established that impeachment is not an appropriate response to disagreement concerning a judicial decision. The normal appellate review process exists for that purpose.”​

Regarding the deportations, they are supposedly under the Alien Enemies Proclamation Act proclamation. But Trump says he didn't sign that.

“I don’t know when it was signed, because I didn’t sign it,” Trump said on the South Lawn of the White House as he prepared to leave for his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey. “Other people handled it. But Marco Rubio’s done a great job. And he wanted them out, and we go along with that. We want to get criminals out of our country.”
So he said he only used the autopen for 'important things." So making use of that Act for the 3rd time in 250 years is not important?

This administration is so incompetent, corrupt and not efficient at all.
