We Are Called To Be Ambassador Servants For Christ

The Lord has commissioned His true disciples to go into the whole world to share the good news of the kingdom of heaven. John the Baptist was an ambassador for Jesus proclaiming, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.” (Matthew 3:2). Then Jesus proclaimed, as an ambassador of heaven, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.” (Matthew 4:17). After the resurrection of Jesus Christ the kingdom of heaven became open to all of mankind who would hear the call and respond. This response is a full repentance whereas as individuals we can become spiritually reborn (born-again) and baptized into the Body of Christ (the Church) by the power of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is here and all around us. Those who are born-again have become new creations no longer citizens of this world, but instead citizens of heaven. As citizens of heaven, we have been called out and chosen by the Heavenly Father to live among mankind in this world as His ambassadors of the gospel (good news), which has the power to transform all who will hear the call and surrender all to live for Christ.

Thus, the true Disciples of Christ makes the choice to live not as the world lives, but rather live as Christ lived to become the light of this world. An ambassador can be defined as “an accredited diplomat sent by a country as its official representative to a foreign country.” Thus, we who are the elect are sent by the Father as representatives of heaven to a world that is foreign to the citizen of heaven. This is a world ruled by Satan and his followers. Consequently, the language and ways of heaven is foreign to the world and we must learn to put aside the ways of this world, such as human thinking and practices, to demonstrate to this world the attributes of heaven. For example, an ambassador sent from a king to a faraway place is to represent their kingdom in a way that illustrates the true essence of the land they are from. This will be foreign to the people of the land they are visiting and yet this difference is what will draw them to us. This is how we who are of heaven need to live among those of this world. And who knows the true attributes of heaven? Only God Himself. This is why He has sent us His Spirit to teach us all the things we need to know and say as His ambassadors in this foreign world.

Paul wrote to the people of Corinth, “For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that One died for all, therefore all died. And He died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died for them and was raised again. So from now on we regard no one according to the flesh. Although we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away. Behold, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting men’s trespasses against them. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ: Be reconciled to God. God made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.” (2 Corinthians 5:14-21).

Today there are many who make the claim to be Christian and yet live their lives as mere citizens of this world. You will know them, they are trees without the good fruit of heaven. They practice their manmade traditions and teach one another their manmade doctrines judging others according to earthly measures. This is not living as Christ taught us to live. This type of life has little or no place in meeting our responsibility as ambassadors of Christ. “Children, it is the last hour; and just as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have appeared. This is how we know it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they did not belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us. But their departure made it clear that none of them belonged to us. You, however, have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth.” (1 John 2:18-21). “I have written these things to you concerning those leading you astray. And you, the anointing that you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But just as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things and is true and is no lie, and just as it has taught you, you shall abide in Him.” (1 John 2:26-27).
