Watch out for spiritually transmitted diseases

A common spiritual malady in the church is outlined in scripture

the power of sin is the law
the sting of sin is death
the death is the power of the devil

Jesus nailed the law to the cross thus cutting off the power of the devil .

but the church turned the bible into a law all over again .. thus demonizing the shadow part of the psyche over time .. by cultivating a "sin within me that sins" that grows into death .. as James and John speak of . and then if it does not kill the person .. it becomes demonic .. as James speaks of in his passage on the two types of wisdom .

The words of god are good .. if used in a godly manner . but when used in a manner that nullifies the redemptive work of Jesus Christ .. then it becomes blasphemous, the mother of many spiritual harlots on the face of the earth .

The remedy for this is to live in a manner that is extremely merciful . and extremely forgiving . on a practical and multi metaphorical level.

Be merciful and kind to others. When people say bad things against you, don't take offense immediately but try to find out if that's what they mean first.

When given a discouraging situation, cultivate the instinct to turn it into a positive, it really helps if you do this in your heart as well. Cultivation takes time . practice self mercy, God chose you, God believes in you, trust that.

When given something that is unforgivable . forgive . generally forgiving isn't about the other person . it's about setting yourself free from being their prisoner . every moment they hold you captive in your own thoughts . be of self control .

Mercy is the key to healing . and love the key to restoration . cultivate both so the peace of God may become full in you protecting your heart and your mind in Christ Jesus .. from what you think you understand and causes you to worry. don't worry. Trust.

May the God of all comfort bless you today richly far beyond what you can imagine or think. And may you be of good spiritual health for all of your days. Amen .
