We do not realize how blessed we are for friendships we create until people and places are no longer a part of our lives. In the past week I have seen user after user complain about the updates that have been made here at Christian Forums and vow they will never return. I admit, I have complained about some things and did not like the site much either when it first came up. But, are the aesthetics of the site really more important to users than the friendships they have made here? Are the aesthetics really more important than the work that God has planned to be completed here?
Over four years ago I was a regular of another online forum. That forum, just like this forum, became a part of my daily life. I met wonderful people there who I will always remember. 'Updates' were made, users were upset, people stopped coming and now the site is shut down. However, that site did not have what we have; their site was not devoted to God and aimed toward fellowship, learning and bringing people to Christ. How great a tool we have! Through virtual reality we are no longer limited by how far we can travel or how many 'real life' people we can meet in one day. You never know when you will touch someone else's life. We should choose our words wisely when we moan and groan because updates are not being made as quickly as we think they should be made. Blessings, reps, characters and the like are not really what this site is all about. You never know what sinner may be sitting there reading your words on their screen and be completely turned off to Christianity.
