United And Anointed

A united church is the greatest threat to the enemy, for wherever the people are united they are anointed! Psalm 133:1-3 tells us the prerequisite for the anointing...

‘Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! 2 It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; 3 As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.

This scripture shows to us that we are only as anointed as we are united! The unction of the Holy Spirit cannot flow where there is division! Psalm 133:1-3 was first dramatized as far back as 2 Chronicles 5:13-14.

‘It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD; 14 So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God.

They were one and so had one voice and one sound. Now that’s talking about the unity of heart and not necessarily of the musical harmony. The bible said the singers were as one and so they could sing with one voice and one sound and at the instance of that the glory of the Lord fell.

When the church is one, the church is strong!

Therefore it is not surprising that the greatest and probably the only strategy the devil has used against the church and will continue to use is that of internal division. The early church knew of the power of unity. It was on that platform of oneness that the greatest move of God was birthed

‘These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.’ (Acts 1:14)
