Turning The World Upside Down

What is inside us can turn the world upside down

‘And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, these that have turned the world upside down are come hither’ - Acts 17:6

This statement above up aptly summarised what the whole book of Acts is all about: ordinary men empowered by the Spirits of God and doing supernatural wonders on the earth. ‘And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, these that have turned the world upside down are come hither’. It's not really surprising because Daniel 11:32 had said that 'the people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits'. This is the knowledge of God that we also need during these last days. We need to know God more intimately until we experience that power that will turn our world upside down!

The book of Acts paints a picture of our future! It's a depiction of how we ought to live our lives as believers and as his church on the earth - a life in the supernatural, walking in the power of God and commanding the attention of the world! For those who walk in the power of God do not live at the mercies of the world! Rather, the world lives at their mercies, for wherever they go they turn the world upside down! This supernatural lifestyle ought to be our natural reality!

The book of Acts is never meant to have an end, our generation is meant to add more chapters of the Acts of God during our times! And indeed there are believers and churches that are doing that on a daily basis - turning the world upside down wherever they go!

They walk in power, they walk in miracles, and they live a life of favor because of the knowledge of what is inside of them!

The Holy Spirit that descended on them in the book of Acts is the same Holy Spirit that is available to us today. This Holy Spirit is more than enough for us! However, the modern day church has belittled the power of the Spirit and exalted in her place the knowledge and strategies of the world, all in a bid for the church to be relevant. But the relevance of the church is not determined by the grammar it speaks but by the power it wields! This spiritual power overrides every other power in the world for the bible says ‘Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God’ (Romans 13:1). The ultimate power anyone can wield in the world is the power that comes from God, and we have that power in us, the power of the Spirit! It is this power we must seek more than any other!
