True Disciples Tend To The Harvest Daily!

"Then He said to His disciples, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few." Matthew 9:37

The true follower of Christ does not dwell on "going to church on the weekend." Instead, we who are truly in Christ will serve the kingdom by tending to the harvest every day of the week just as Jesus taught us to do. Regrettably, many who claim to be "Christians" sacrifice a true walk with Christ for a substitute religious life filled with human traditions and doctrines they practice each weekend. Furthermore, most of these so-called Christians do so with no true regard for the need to tend to the harvest as our true commission from Jesus decrees. Hence, it should come as no surprise to the true disciple that "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few," because today's institutionalized local church system has a very different set of agendas than those of Christ. Thus, knowing this, if you are in fact a true disciple of Christ then be encouraged! There is much work to be done and we must be about our Fathers business.

Consequently, for those who are true disciples, we must understand from a spiritual standpoint what it means to serve the kingdom. Jesus did not call us to build our own church societies, He called us to serve as ONE BODY, His Church, daily! "Then Jesus said to all of them, "If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it. What does it profit a man to gain the whole world, yet lose or forfeit his very self?" Luke 9:23-25 Therefore, understand what is meant by tending to the Lord's harvest. The Church (true disciples and not the institutionalized system of today) are called to proclaim the gospel to all nations by allowing the Lord to use us to plant seeds, water, and harvest the lives of those He is calling to His kingdom. The Apostle Paul wrote, "I planted the seed and Apollos watered it, but God made it grow. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. He who plants and he who waters are one in purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor. For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building." 1 Corinthians 3:6-9
