Thoughts On The Gifts And The Cessation Of Gifts

The gifts of the Holy Spirit are not strictly defined by what is in the bible, but two things remain consistent with all gifts of the Holy Spirit:

1) All gifts operate by faith or trust in God, both doing the work together. If you do not believe a gift exists, you will only see foolishness when it manifests if you see anything at all.

2) All gifts of the Holy Spirit display a character of the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

You may have one group desperately trying to prove their gift exists to a group that dismisses it.

Two issues here:

The group trying to prove the other party wrong are immature. If the gift is from God, validation from other people is not necessary. The intimacy with God should be enough.

The second issue is that the goading party has under-developed faith, and is unable to trust God to make foolish appearing things a wisdom that confounds the world.

The gifts of the Holy Spirit are to be used to edify the body of Christ, this is important to remember since the purpose of edification tends to be sidelined for correction far too often.

Talk around gifts tends to become a matter of correction if fellow servants begin to blaspheme the Holy Spirit by saying a gift is of the devil when it is God working.

If you are in the process of forming an identity in relation to God, please give room for others to grow, it's a big kingdom. If someone experiences God differently than you, it is not wrong, they're just part of another body part of the body than you.

Jesus taught that greatness in the Kingdom of God is based on service. If you are wondering about how you can contribute to the Kingdom of God, use your gifts to build up others.
