Those Who Are In Christ Have Nothing To Fear!

True disciples of the Lord have absolutely nothing to fear in this life here on earth, including a pandemic. "For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power, love, and self-control." (2 Timothy 1:7). Jesus said, "Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?" (Luke 12:25). "Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Instead, fear the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell." (Matthew 10:28).

The Lord Himself taught us that fear is the opposite of faith, thus we who are in Christ have nothing to fear in this world. "For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain" (Philippians 1:21). “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of Man will come in His Father’s glory with His angels, and then He will repay each one according to what he has done." (Matthew 16:24-27).

The true Church, those who are in Christ, must be prepared to act upon all opportunities to be used by the Lord during this recent pandemic. We should not fear this plague as the world does, but instead realize that we can overcome all things through our faith in Christ. Regrettably, those who are most in need are considered a compromised people due to poor health circumstances and unhealthy living conditions. Thus, they are feared and are even a shunned population by most of this world. These beautiful and lonely forgotten souls live out lives in despair causing them a great sense of hopelessness. However, we know where they can find true hope, true love, and what they need most in their lives.

Thus, as the Lord leads, step out in faith to serve those who are in need. The united Church must come together in prayer and action as the Lord leads. Remember, reaching out to those in need surely is not about us, and it is not about what we might gain. Instead, it is about the poor, disabled, orphaned, homeless, diseased, widowed, and broken of this world receiving true love and compassion from our Lord. Any acts of love the Lord uses us for is all about Him furthering His kingdom. We, as His true Church, must work together under His guidance to minister to the needs of those He leads us to and in doing so we bring great glory and honor to our Lord!
