Things I Got Out Of Our Sunday Sermon . . .

God's word shows that God wants what is better for us. God wants what is even better than we can want :) And, of course, first God is concerned about what He desires for Himself > He desires to have many children who are like His Son Jesus > Romans 8:29. So, we need to be not so much only about what God has for us, but we need to be more about seeking to please Him, first.

And Jesus says, "seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." (in Matthew 6:33) So, while we seek God for Himself and seek first to please Him, we are guaranteed how He will take care of all He knows we need.

And I keep finding how He shares plenty which is so enjoyable > God "gives us richly all things to enjoy." (in 1 Timothy 6:17) I can wonder, at times, who is the most busy with pleasing whom

We can't "kind of" follow Jesus. Either we do or we don't.

It's about the things we love.

We can compare upward, and complain about how certain people have more than we do; or we can compare downward and criticize. But we need to seek our Heavenly Father for real correction of ourselves > Hebrews 12:4-11.

And "be content with such things as you have" (in Hebrews 13:5).

He was talking about how there will be fruit if we believe.

Even the thief on the cross had the fruit of belief, even in that situation, and how he stood up for Jesus and confessed and trusted in Jesus.

Authentic faith is always accompanied by works. But our Apostle Paul says, "faith working through love," in Galatians 5:6.

"Let all that you do be done with love." (1 Corinthians 16:14)

Plus our service needs to not be with conditions about what we want God to do for us.

God says He will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). And Jesus says He is with us until the end of the age (Matthew 28:19-20). So, we can be sure God will take care of us the right way . . . no matter how anything may look. What matters is simply if we are obeying Him; and this includes > obey how God takes care of us.

So . . . be with Jesus now :)
