The Twisting Road To Recovery

  1. The road to recovery from mental illness is never straight or easy. It twists and turns in unexpected ways and sometimes along the way we stumble and fall. A series of unforunate events have led to me having to go sick again with my anxiety overwhelming me. Trying to change things for the better of my health has meant being pushed back a few steps on my journey but I'm still moving forward in my journey, picking myself up slowly and moving on.
Stay safe and know you are not alone.

I have a very long road ahead to recover with a perhaps different but very related matter that will destroy me if I do not win the battle over it. I cling to the truth of Romans 12:21 "Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."
So when I am tempted to go off the path because I start feeling very hopeless and overcome....I try to remember that and think of others that I can do good for. This battle is temporary here on earth and one day we will have eternity with Christ who has already won the battle for us and is preparing a place for us. But, we need to finish our race well here first by keeping our eyes on Christ so as not to start drowning like Peter when he took his eyes off of Christ. It helps to have a deep love for the lost and make it our mission to live in such a way that they will ask us who and what our hope is in...so that we can say, Our ONLY hope is in the Lord Jesus Christ. May God give you and I peace today and wisdom on every small to large choice. Your fight over your illness is important to me. I thank you for sharing!! Peace
