These are the thoughts that came to me when I looked at my tomato plant. My brain truly works in mysterious ways.

I have three tomato plants around my steps at my apartment. The one in the picture is the only one to have grown a tomato so far. It is the tallest of the three as well. But you know something about that tomato plant?
It didn't start out that way.
In fact when my mom, an avid gardener, saw it, she said the poor thing didn't look like it had a chance. It was small and almost wilting. In mom's opinion, the tomato plant was not going to make it.
Days later it is thriving above the others.
As proclaimed in Matt 20:16, " so the last will be first and the first will be last." That tomato plant started in last place looking like it wouldn't make it. And now is in first, healthy and thriving.
Maybe others have looked at you and thought, "they just won't make it". By the world's standards you just don't have it, you're smaller, weaker, wilting.
Friend, don't you believe those lies. When you look at where you've been, where you started from, do not be discouraged. You are not less than, you are worthy, you are blessed, as we are so told in Matthew 5:3-5
" Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek for they will inherit the earth."
Thank God but though you may not be where you are headed you are not where you once used to be.
You have grown. You are stronger. You have something, like my tomato plant, that others are missing.
