The Teachings Of Jesus

Today's modern churches place little emphasis on the teachings of Jesus. Regrettably, many church goers have little or no understanding of how the teachings of Jesus apply to the life of someone once they become a Christian. Moreover, many who claim to be Christians spend a great deal of time focused on the teachings of the Apostles found in their letters to early believers and almost no time on the actual teachings of Jesus. Let there be no mistake, it is a great thing to know the scriptures inspired by the Word of God Himself, Jesus. The scriptures contain the instructions and ingredients needed to make us wise for salvation through faith in the Son of God. In fact, "All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for instruction, for conviction, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, fully equipped for every good work." (2 Timothy 3:15-17). However, there is still far too little focus on the importance of what Jesus taught as found in the four Gospels and how these teachings apply to Christian living.
